i mean part is that is because generally the big names in their "scene" are also all dudes and they don't too often really go outside their fan's comfort zones

99% positive Tigers Jaw has a feud with Brand New because of their friendship with Derrick

 

Modest Mouse had a female playing with them when I saw them with BN

I think Brand New should quit being Brand New and just be the backing band for Mitski imo.

I actually never seen her solo shows. I like her full band tho.

 

I don't think he means against Derrick, moreso that they're against BN after the Derrick issues that happened

 

i've seen her do solo electric and solo acoustic a few times as well as full band, part of it is that her band is never super tight and she's just such a powerful live presence that i really just want to pay attention to her

 

Yeah, tho I like the current drummer, the live band never really does her sound or the arrangements she records justice. Thus why I made my initial proposition.

 

been almost a year since i've seen her though, excited for july! very great support too and in a venue (though like 50 times bigger than the first time i saw her lol) that always brings the best out of bands

She's not playing New York... but I will be seeing her at Boston Calling. Maybe I'll try the Philly or DC dates.

That was Lisa Molinaro. She's Issac's GF and I believe is now an official member of MM.

 

Oh nice! Didn't know that. Not too familiar with MM, but they blew me away when I saw them

 

I would HIGHLY suggest you get familiar with Modest Mouse, haha. That was a dream tour for me last year.

 

I mean I doubt they would turn down the opportunity to play with them, bc it would give them incredible exposure and I think a lot of fans of Brand New's earlier work would really love Tigers Jaw. Also Tigers Jaw did play Devinyl splits with Jesse Lacey on the bill.
