Dumb and lazy alternative press got the date wrong. It's Nov 21st not 20th.

They're referring to the release date as the day it went up to stream, which was Monday November 20th. The date it went on sale was Tuesday the 21st.

 

Pfft its Nov 21st thats the official date no one considers the stream date the official date.

actually haven't checked this thread in weeks so I was surprised to find out it hadn't been shared already.

 

I have a weird synesthesia with dates and numbers so seeing November 20th as the release date really really bugs me.


I'm kinda just realizing from that statement how much of a weirdo I am haha

 

Not to take away from the anniversary, but could someone explain to me what Shone was / is?

 

Shone was a band that included Brian, Vin, and Vin's brother Andrew. They started with a major viral marketing campaign that was basically what everyone expects Brand New to pull but never has. Ultimately it's widely considered a major disappointment.

Thanks, I had found that reddit post on Google but the user kept saying that they weren't sure if they were accurate hah so I wasn't sold on their description.

I think it's fairly accurate. I got really into it when it happened so when the music turned out to be disappointing I kinda suppressed that memory out of resentment.

 

Ugh, I was so hyped when all of that happened. I will forever hate S****.

 

I'm not a big fan of Shone either but tbh the documentary on the whole thing is actually kinda interesting. Fun to see how that whole viral marketing campaign went. It's easy to find and on youtube by the way @crunchprank

TDAG solidified Brand New as one of the most important bands I've come across in my life. I need to give that album some more love nowadays.
