It's hard for me to even fathom a world where Handcuffs isn't the closer on TDAG, haha.

I seem to be in the minority but Handcuffs is one of my favorite Brand New songs ever too. I could put that in my top 5-7 Brand New songs.

I love the idea of the song "Handcuffs" but don't like the song itself

Like I get what they're going for and I like what they're going for but don't like how they do it

If that makes sense at all

I like you. I have a very intimate and personal connection with that song because... reasons, so it definitely would have a seat in my top ten songs by the band. Yeah, I know, drowning babies and whatnot, but I think it's gorgeous and it means a lot to me emotionally.

Removing Handcuffs and putting in CocaCola would have made TDAG sooooo much better.

I drown babies all the time that's not my issue

    Obviously joking but yeah idk

The only thing I don't like about Handcuffs is that there is one too many syllables in "I'd arrest you." Always sounds awkward/contrived to me.

The fact that you had to include that in spoiler tags is kind of unsettling tbh
No, haha, I get it. I do understand why people have a problem with the song. For me, it just falls into that weird, messy category of "songs that have personal significance to me and are therefore impossible to remain objective about," if that makes sense.

That does make sense, and I get it. There are songs and artists I feel that way about too.

To me, Handcuffs just feels sloppily done. I love all the ideas in that song and I feel like if they were delivered just a BIT better it'd be a good song but it comes across as sloppy to me.

But I also get that that won't change your mind on it, nor should it. I'm glad it was able to have significance for you and hold an important place in your life because that's the beauty of music, something some dislike can be insanely important to others.

This will likely change in oh, 30 minutes, but let's give it a shot:

    1. Noro
    2. You Won't Know
    3. Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't
    4. Degausser
    5. Sowing Season
    6. Nobody Moves
    7. Luca
    8. Jaws Theme Swimming
    9. The No Seatbelt Song
    10. 1996

Hard not to put Jesus in there. It's #11 at this point, but could probably be switched with 1996. I just love that song so much.

Fork and Knife might be my favorite BN song of all time. It is fun and poppy but kinda sad too. Like, you can sing along while you cry.

I'm driving to Vegas later today, I'll come back and give a top ten then.

The vocal deliveries are what sell me on deja and devil and god. They are delivered from such an honest place.

I struggle finding any music podcasts that I enjoy. Casey Bates podcast is amazing, but limited to his own produced albums, and Song Exploder is pretty good but leaves me wanting way more. Anyone have reccomendations?

I guess I should clarify. This podcast episode is really well done, BUT I'm listening to some ones interpretations of songs I've been listening to for 10 years. It's just weird hearing some of his interpretations, most notably his view of You Wont Know
