I think that depends on your definition of good. Lol. Its been awhile, but I think I remember some bad synth. It's kinda fun to sing along to, but has some of their most cringeworthy lyrics. "Give me one night inside of your thighs / a million girls would kill to be you right now."

 

i was gonna give it a hard pass, but then i figured it couldn't be THAT bad
this is their worst song i think, holy shit

Was Coca Cola originally recorded for devil and god?

 

I believe so. When I bought TDAG in 2006, it came with a second disc that had Sowing Season and acoc aloc on it.

 

I believe it was originally intended in the place of Handcuffs as the closer.

 

I remember Jesse saying that he considered Coca-Cola to be the best song he wrote. This was around 2007/08. He closed every solo show with it during those summer tours with Kevin.

 

He played it at a show I went to and he described it as a song where every line he wrote ended up just perfect.

 

It's honestly one of my favorite Brand New songs, and I much prefer it to Brothers.

 

I generally agree with a lot of the opinions in here, but Limousine as "best" or "favorite" song is mind boggling to me.

Don't get me wrong, I like the song. A lot. But I can probably name 20-25 songs I like more/think are better.

As a follow-up/Unpopular opinion alert: Noro is their best song.

 

Any of my top 3 are interchangeable and Noro definitely fits that, I love Noro so much and it's unanimously my favorite live Brand New song

 

Limousine is their magnum opus. It's the epitome of Brand New.

 

I'm a Limousine guy...I just love everything about it. For starters, it being a true story and the way the song is portrayed through three different perspectives and the ending is just absolutely haunting. It's 7+ minutes yet there is no chorus or traditional song structure. I much prefer Brand New's darker material than to their poppier material.

Also, I could live with putting Noro in my top 5. Easily my favorite off Daisy.

 

Luca is definitely in my top 10. As is You Won't Know, which would probably be in my top 3. Think it's #2 actually. Honestly this is so impossible to do. There isn't a Brand New song that I don't like. I even love all of YFW since it was all I knew of them back then, though none of those songs would be in my top 25. Overall as an album my favorite is Deja, but if I made a top 10 I think I'd only have one or two songs from it in there.

I definitely wouldn't discredit the song's importance, just personally don't think it's my favorite/their best.

Yeah agreed about the darker material, it definitely resonates with me more-so than the upbeat/poppy stuff as well.

 

It's weird to me that two of the same songs exist in such a similar form lol I don't know which one I like more

 

You have to wonder if the label made them switch out Coca Cola for handcuffs. I like both of them and am glad that they both exist I just wonder if somehow devil and god would have been even better with Coca Cola
