I saw Coheed open for Slipknot and left two songs into that set, couldn't deal with it

 

I saw many people leave before Thrice after La Dispute.

A horrendous sin against music and live shows.

 

Saw this at Irving Plaza in NYC...half, possibly more than half, of the people there just up and left.

 

Senses fail was really good live during the Still Searching line up.

 

Definitely saw this happen as well

 

I can understand someone not being a fan of Thrice, but their live performance is unmatched. I wasn't a big fan until I saw them open for / coheadline with Brand New in '09. From that point on I was hooked, but regardless, I feel like they're objectively insanely amazing at what they do live.

 

I was the opposite when I went: Was not a fan of La Dispute and loved their live show a lot (I've seen them since and it wasn't that good though). But yeah Thrice is great live.

 

i went to a Say Anything show for Cymbals Eat Guitars and left maybe three songs in of SA.

 

If Brand New weren't ending after next year, I'd choose to see Thrice over Brand New. Brand New is my favorite band, but as far as my enjoyment of seeing them play live, Thrice eeks it out. Thankfully I'll never be forced to make that kind of choice.

 

i just wanna see Jimmy Eat World live again.

i feel lucky to have seen Brand New 3 times considering where i live.

 

I've seen Brand New once all the way through and walked out on Brand New once

I didn't walk out because of the show though I walked out because I was too drunk

Thats disappointing, I'll be at the Stl show tonight and I hope people stick around. They're both just wonderful.

 

I walked out of a BN performance once.

It was in Milwaukee at an annual festival where they played practically the exact same set as they had the year before at the EXACT same place. I was honestly just bored. Their live set was just so stale with nothing new worked into it.

They were in the middle of Jesus when I left. I couldn't have been less interested. It was weird.

Since then, I've seen them in Pittsburgh this past summer and have tickets to see them in November. So...whatevs I guess.

 

I would never leave brand new they could play Jesus 12 times and I'd be happy

 

Haha yeah I know, everyone seems to love them, but I just haven't been able to get into them. I've only heard a few of their songs, though, so maybe I'll have to go back and listen.

I remember waaay back in AP, people were comparing some JEW song against Play Crack The Sky by BN and it seemed like everyone liked the former over the latter. Since I love the scene, and Play Crack The Sky so much, I checked it out, and it just wasn't anything that stood out to me.

Plus, I just hate going to a show where I don't know the songs, because it's not like I can hear much more than heavy bass and drums unless I'm in the nosebleeds at a decently large venue.

 

I laughed.

I'd watch an entire set if Jaws Theme or Not the Sun over and over and be fine.

 

throw in Good to Know as an encore, and id be there right with ya brother

 

I had to leave during Field Mouse when I went to see them with Cymbals Eat Guitars the other week :((

 

I hope at the end they release all of their demos from all of their albums. I loved hearing the deja demos to see what creative decisions they made between demoing and the final product.

 

I remember in the summer, I went to see Modest Mouse and then some band called Brand New played after. I had to leave immediately, I couldn't take it anymore.

 

lol I had be opposite experience saw brand new in Baltimore and left halfway through modest mouse. Oddly enough I caught the second half of the modest mouse set when they opened for brand new in Philly

 

I was just kidding anyway!! I wouldn't have left!for BN!!!

I wasn't trying to come off as braggy or anything with my post. I was shocked at myself while I walked away.

Not sure I'd stay for these sets you describe though. Woof.
