I was reading that letter yesterday and literally could feel my heartbeat excellerating when I saw you posted it. Then I read that it wasn't coming out and I wanted to cry then I realized I was seeing devil and god in full and then I got chills. I'm still disappointed for sure I really want to hear this thing. The worst part is that it's probably better than most music being released but maybe it's just a notch under a record like devil and god

I wouldn't even be bothered if they only played that. As good as their other tracks are, to hear Limousine live would be too good.

maybe this time, I won't be alright Supporter

This band is so fucking aggravating. If I hadn't already stopped caring about what the fuck they do next, this would have done it for sure. Fuck this.

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

I have a lot of thoughts on this, and I don't expect anyone here to actually be waiting to hear what I have to say, but here it is:

Upon reading the letter yesterday, I was brought to the full realization of how much I'd invested in what this band was doing. While my confidence dwindled from surety to nothing since May to last week, I think that deep down I still thought I was just playing along with the joke, "We're never getting anything." I was excited to see Brand New post something, but my reaction was almost instant when I saw the typewritten letter, not in the vague nature of what we've received this year.

I knew what I was about to read before I got to, "First, an apology." This is all I wanted. Last week. The severity of my reaction to this letter seems to have increased tenfold since summer ended without so much as a word. I get it, it's "funny" that the letter is dated from last week, and maybe I'll be able to experience that humor later, but right now I am burnt out. I am just glad they addressed it, and clarified their plans having changed.

"Secondly," and this is where I was the most upset, which I freely acknowledge as a shallow and entitlement rich reaction. My favorite album being played in its entirety on the upcoming tour. How incredibly awesome is that? Quite incredibly, but the two nearest shows to me are over ten hours of driving away. Not even remotely feasible as a husband, father, and counselor to 50 youth at home. My desire to experience this tour is overwhelmed by the reality that my commitments and responsibilities would never allow it to happen. This is the album that shifted the trajectory of my life, and while I don't want to overstate or embellish it, I genuinely don't believe that I would be where I am today without it, if I'd even still be here at all. I've never connected with art as intimately as I did (and do) with this particular album. It hasn't merely been a decade since the album released. It has been a decade since I decided to live. This album came along and set the decision in stone. This album was the rebar to the foundation of the rest of my life.

This band has already given us so much this year. A lot to be thankful for, and more than enough to hold us over and cover the disappointment of expectations they failed to meet. If it upsets me as much as it does, I can't imagine what they feel as a band.

Maybe they "don't feel anything," but I think they do.

I think I'm the only person indifferent in seeing TDAG. It will be nice to see some of the rarer live songs from that album. But they regularly play 6-7 of these songs per night anyway. i would rather have a varied set list from all eras.

  11. Drewski

    Maybe so, maybe not.

    Yeah...this.

Granted, I know a lot of these cities/towns on this b-market tour haven't probably seen Brand New in years so any set is a blessing for them.

They're playing Cleveland for the second year in a row, and outside of that, I've seen them in Cincinnati, Columbus and Pittsburgh twice in the past 4 years. I know they play most of TDAG at most shows anyway, but it'll be cool to see it in sequence. I'm VERY excited about it.

Plus, I know I'm in the minority here, but Handcuffs is one of my favorite BN songs ever, so I'm very excited to finally see it live. I feel like that's one of the only songs in their last three albums that I haven't seen live.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Not the Sun is one of my favorite songs, so I'm excited to finally hear that one live. Seeing the whole album in sequence is worth it to me.

of the devil and god? definitely not for the new album, these things are both TDAG related. and awaken would have been a terrible name for that album compared to its actual title

Yeah I get that, so maybe I shouldn't say anything untill I hear the larger set. I just hope it's not TDAG plus like 5 hits
