What an expected disappointment. I really hope this means it is coming, eventually, because the message goes from saying "no new album this year" to "what's left is going to be a strange demise." Not inspiring a ton of confidence.

Haha no I won't be picking her up in the city. She will be in Western Mass because my brother is getting married the day before, so I will be recovering from that and then driving to the show. Not sure if she's coming with me or not because she has classes the next day but I do have a ticket for her.

Welp. I'll dip back into this thread again after the Ithaca show in October, no new 2016 album kind of ruins whatever dwindling speculation conversation we had left.

 

Haha. Yeah. I'd be more confident if brand new were headlining when they play with biffy but they're not so can't see them playing TDAG in full in November. However they are playing at the sse hydro which has roughly 13,000 capacity so could be a possibility with such a big crowd for them and no ther support acts announced atm. Would prefer them to get to play a really big set than have some average support though. Haha

 

The letter was drafted on the 21st, but not released until today.

Playing TDAG in full is a damn good consolation for no new album this year imo. They could have easily just said no new album without anything else.

 

Those new Brand New lyrics suck. Oh wait, they have time time to tour but no time to complete and refine a new album since Daisy.

I love this bands music, but they've handled fans poorly over the years.

Guess they realized making and releasing new music doesn't pay and just play your old material so that fans scream songs on your set list. It's their own way of avoiding fans yelling "play Deadbolt' metaphorically speaking.

 

I read their statement quickly, are the playing the album front to back, or just including each song somewhere in the set?

Either way, I am down for this. Will still get some other songs as well. We've waited a long time for new music, I can wait some more.
