this page of the thread has made me real sad but im still gonna hold out hope for an album and tour that reaches GA

Can anyone provide a screenshot of Zack's IG story? Haven't gotten the update on Instagram yet >://// Instagram has always been bad with major feature rollouts on Android

 

can't screenshot it because it's a video. also the update is there, i have an android. maybe try manually updating?

 

It's not on my update list on the Google Play Store— I'll try my android tablet and see if it's on there. Weird

Pretty sure that poster is fake. The gaps in the dates make no sense considering how close the locations are. Also they just ended this tour in that area so idk if they'd start this tour there.

 

We are only getting a 4 song split ep with Glassjaw. 2 songs each. This will be the last recorded material each band ever releases, ever.

O rly lol. I'm not a big fan personally. Really wish I was tho. Some of their later stuff is ok. What's your fave release by them?

but yeah i mean, worship and tribute is absolute classic

 

"Daytona White" is my fav song by them, so I can't be mad. "Vanilla Poltergeist Snake" is probably another top 5 for me as well.

As a complete work, I feel like Worship and Tribute is the best. It's the most consistent and the best representation of their sound. I also feel like it's the best starting point.

Much like Brand New, I believe it's tough to judge gj by just one of their releases due to major shifts in style and experimentation.

 

definitely agree with that, they've evolved so much. Glassjaw's Worship & Tribute is a big record for me because it essentially got me into harder / heavier music when i was younger. its kind of a milestone record for my music tastes in that sense actually. i remember being young and getting into hardcore and wishing every band in the genre sounded like Glassjaw haha... then letlive. put out Fake History and i was pretty happy hahah

 

I like Head Automatica more than Glassjaw.

 

For me it was EYEWTKAS. I could not believe how chaotic and abrasive the sound was. The lyrics were so raw and unfiltered, they ranged from creatively vulgar to brilliantly genuine. I was floored. I'd go back to that album more if Daryl didn't use as much sexist language.

I feel like Head Automatica was therapeutic for Daryl. After all of the intense, emotional focus of gj, he needed to create art with a different tone and he nailed it. Having recently discovered the Vipen demos, I've been spinning their stuff a lot lately. I love HA, but glassjaw has Justin Beck on guitar so...

 

I flat out don't like EYEWTKAS I just can't get into it. Honestly when I think about Glassjaw I just think about W&T and forward.

 

No love for KKBB? "Snow Veil" is a jam! And it has the hidden poem!

I think I just listened to EYEWTKAS at the right time in my life. But c'mon, the chorus to "Siberian Kiss" is still huge.

 

Show me a better song than this.

 

I forgot how bad that song was until right now. Hahhaa. Wow. That doesn't hold up at ALLLLL.

 

That song is still awesome imo
