Either way we can all be stoked on whatever Procrastinate has in store. Is Shone any good? I never listened to em really. I followed that whole thing along but never dove in.

I can't wait for KD lp9 either. So watching this label do their thing is gonna be fun! I'll get stoked on all of it

 

Did Chorus just experience it's first Brand New-related downed server, or was that just my mobile website for 15 minutes?

 

tbh i'm sorta glad i missed all of this. if i'm reading right, some instagram posts were made and today is april 18th?

mine was down for like 2 minutes around that same time as the other user mentioned too

 

Nothing on our end. 100% completely fine on the forum server. The Newark datacenter (the Wordpress server) had some issues a few hours ago. Nothing to do with Brand New.

 

Saw it flaring up on r/BrandNew before...considering I made r/zooolanderconspiracy on Reddit strictly for an article I put together years ago and people still theorize it's tied into Brand New's next release will NEVER stop being hysterical to me.

 

That is still brought up by people wanting to know if it's real.

No yeah, i didnt think it had anything to do with Brand New, just wanted to let you know i experienced it too in case you liked to know about that kind of thing.

But i actually think i realize what happened (to me and probably the other guy too)... on my Chrome home page, Absolutepunk was my number one visited site, so it had the shortcut right there with the little thumbnail thing. When it switched the chorus i kept just clicking that link, and the image showed the thumbnail of chorus, but it was actually still going to AP but automatically redirecting me to chorus. until this point i didnt realize that i was being redirected every time i was visiting chorus, but that seems to be not working now. so yeah chorus is fine, bottom line hah.

 

Why did I have to see all if this tonight?! My wife's ultrasound is tomorrow. I need sleep.

It took seven years but I really like Daisy. Great album

 

Always loved Daisy. During the beginning of my BN love, I liked it more than TDAG. However, take that with a grain of salt, cuz I was a pop punk kid who thought YFW was the best album.

Funny enough, I spent a solid month being afraid of TDAG. The album art, coupled with a lot of the songs' aesthetic, was so creepy to me. I couldn't listen to songs like untitled or Jesus at night in the dark! Skip 3 years later and it's my favorite record of all time.

 

Daisy took me a long time to warm up to but once I did. Wow. What an album.

 

I think no matter what I was always going to love Daisy. Never had anything but high praise for it.

 

Daisy was jarring for me, and lyrically it will never quite stack up to TDAG, but I grew to love it.

 

I think those Brand New references are more likely Procrastinate references and have nothing directly to do with Brand New

 

Man every time I look at the Brand New subreddit it really makes me depressed. Toxic environment over there for sure

 

I liked Deja since first hearing it in 2005 and don't mind most of TDAGARIM outside of Limousine, but didn't like Daisy when I first heard it. Now it's probably my favourite album by them and have listened to it on repeat at work heaps of times the past few weeks. Favourite tracks at the moment are Sink, Noro and You Stole

I have also been listening to the demos a lot on Apple Music, 1996 and Fork and Knife are my picks from that bunch

 

I've observed that the levels of insanity and lack of levelheadedness increases the more you open the pool of online social interaction.

Chorus FM - Sure we get hyped and freak out, but for the most part we're all just having fun.

Layer Two

/r/brandnew - Any comment not directly feeding the hype is downvoted, and many comments that point toward rational expectation and reaction being downvoted as well. This isn't @Drewski 's fault. The fandom there is just caught up in a faux-conpiracy. This can often be a good community to interact with, and I hope most of it is people just having fun with it, though I think many are really into the "conspiracy" of it all.

A Group for Talking Only in Brand New Lyrics - Facebook Group - It's scary in there ya'll.

 

Yeah, it can be rough. I don't want to be a buzzkill for people that want to have a little fun with it, but I don't necessarily buy into the "it's all connected!" nitpicking that goes on. If I find something to be actually of substance or interesting, I'll take it a step further and tweet it out on @BrandNewArchive.

It was definitely around the lyric books went out that the speculative nature of the beast ramped up. It's definitely a perfect storm of factors—a hungry and obsessive fanbase + a lack of concrete info = insanity.

 

This is spot on. I agree the subreddit can be good. Its just usually hard to get levelheaded people who are up other enough to have a real conversation.

 

I love Brand New. I got into them after Deja but before TDAG. My parents didn't let me listen to music with swearing, so Brand New was the perfect gateway to genres I never new existed. I was a regular on AP as early as official thread 3. I'd like to start posting more here. In response to some of the current topics in here:

-facebook's group for only talking in Brand New lyrics is too weird for me. I thought I was obsessed until briefly joining that group. It's its own religion in there and half the time they ger the lyrics wrong. Lol.

- Daisy is great. They put a lot of work into the guitars and other cool sounds, but I feel like the lyrics were phoned in. I listened to it yesterday and skipped Be Gone and You Stole.

 

Be Gone and Noro are my most skipped on Daisy. I also like the At The Bottom (Live in Studio) version better than the record version.
