Man, I'm just ready for a new album. Like someone said earlier, when Mene dropped OVER A YEAR AGO we were all losing our minds thinking a record was right around the corner, and here we are again with a new single dropping and we're all losing our minds again. And the whole 'they're releasing an album before going on tour' thing...well, they went on tour last summer with Manchester Orchestra. Still no album. Fool me once... I know they released that e-mail back in January saying to expect an album in 2016...but they also said they were going in the studio back in 2012 only to admit they had studio time, but never used it. I still think this band will drop an album all at once - out of the blue (Beyonce style), hopefully in the very, very new future. I think I speak for most when I say I'd rather have an entire new album drop then periodic singles popping up every now and then (and I'm throwing Sealed to Me into that category since they played it live a handful of times). Regardless, intrigued by the 30 seconds of I am a nightmare.
YES!!! In all honesty, I wasn't a huge fan of "Mene", but this clip reminds me of why I loved Brand New from the start.
A friend told me they would have a new album out this May/June, and I just laughed hah, today he sent me the link and with his regards, showing me signs that I might not be the last on laughing ;P ..anyway, will wait for the single, totally love the artwork for that, the chorus sounds a bit like some British music, but it's not the first time, it doesn't sound like reinventing anything to me, but it's cool!
I could see this song blow up massively. Maybe Brand New's direction on this album is a super commercial one? I'd actually be pretty on board with that.
I'm on board with that too actually! Anything that's not just an average amount of experimenting really. It's Brand New, so it'll be a drastically different sound from all their other albums, that's all I know!
Yeah that chorus seemed a little boring to me, the way they just repeated those lines over and over. I hope the song really takes a turn.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I can't be fooled again. Or, in the words of Michael Scott: "fool me once, strike one. But fool me twice, strike three."
Damn it's really poppy, I kind of love it. I'm ready for some summer Brand New, a welcome change from all the winter Brand New we've had for a while, if that makes sense.
My friend sent me a link to the news story and I thought it was the coolest thing to see someone using a link from chorus. I got so excited at seeing just the link cause of the chorus name haha. Can't wait for this!
So what is everyone thinking? New album before or after tour? Also, I don't get the dislike for Daisy. I might be alone on this but I enjoy Daisy as a whole more than Deja. It also took the longest time to grow on me.
