I'm hoping to avoid as many spoilers about this tour as possible, but I doubt I can not check in here for 7 straight days.
thats what I am hoping for as well, don't know if I should spoil myself since i am seeing them tomorrow and let everything be a surpirse
What do we think, 5-6 songs after TDAG? I am thinking 3-4 immediately after, then 1-2 encore. I did look and when I saw them play Deja front to back they played 21 songs that night, but 17 songs seems like their sweet spot lately. I am thinking we might get (not this order) Sic Transit Gloria, Okay I Believe You, Gasoline, At the Bottom, IAAN, and either Sealed to Me, Play Crack the Sky or Soco as the closer with just Jesse and Vin to end it. Any other thoughts on what we will realistically see tonight?
I know they said in their letter they'll be playing new music, but frankly I would be surprised by a legit new song on this tour that they haven't already been playing this year. I'd be pumped for sure, to have the first live listen of a new song would kick ass, I am just not holding out for it.
I'm guessing 8-10 songs after TDAG. To be honest, I'd be shocked (and disappointed) if they just played 3 to 4 then went into an encore. The fact that they publicly stated these shows would be the final time they're in a lot of these cities makes me think these sets may be a bit longer than normal AND they publicly stated they'd be playing newer and older songs in addition to TDAG.
Also there are two instrumental songs on devil and god which make it easier to expand the set another 10 songs after since they wont kill the vocals
I've seen them 3 times since they started playing sealed to me and still haven't heard it lol.. need to hear this song!
I'm with you on this. Anything less than 20 would be a disappointment. Hopefully a good mix too... 5-6 YFW/Deja-era, 2-3 Daisy, 2-3 Demos/Mene/IAAN/Unreleased.
Would anyone be upset if they opened with the 6 demos that didn't make devil and god and then played devil and god
Would love Daisy to completion - it is the only album I haven't heard in full. And I hope everyone else is right and we do get 20+ tonight (and every night).
I would LOVE that. The friend I'm going with really only knows YFW/Deja, so for his sake, I'm hoping there's a good mix of those songs in with everything after TGAD.
That would be the best possible thing!! I've said it before, but Nobody Moves and Sealed to Me are the only songs I need to hear from them at this point.
The only song I NEED to hear from Brand New that I haven't in my 8 times seeing them is Handcuffs, so I'm really, really excited to finally hear it live. I'd also love to hear The No Seatbelt Song live again too. It's been 6 or 7 years since I've seen them play it. Other than that, I feel like I've seen them play most of the songs from their last 3 albums live. I've even seen them play some of the demos too.
Id imagine they'll play hour 45 - 2 hours. Hopefully they'll jam Bangkok and Untitled longer. My dream post album setlist in no order would be like: Nobody moves Guernica Okay I Believe You (gonna sound really snobby here but they're my favorite band, but the version they would play live in 06 on the TDAG tour with MO and KD. Have a bootleg from a show in MA and it's the longest and most awesome version I've heard) Good to Know... Mix Tape Sink Bought a Bride Flying at Tree Level Whatever new songs
As for songs I'd like to hear, I'll be happy if I get to see 1996. It's the only song of theirs that I haven't seen live (not including Out of Range, which hasn't been played).
They definitely fit the themes that were leading up to whatever they were planning to release this year.
