I'm very late but I agree with @Bloodsucker II on his pixar points but I might even go back to before UP as the last pixar "classic"

I think UP and Inside Out are about equal in quality but both (while good) are severely overrated imo

 

Pixar has been in the "it's their best since..." phase of their existence for a long time

they haven't made many outright BAD films but there's so much goodwill toward them as a brand (largely due to past pedigree and nostalgia) that they get forgiven for things other studios wouldn't imo

 

Wait now we've got Inside Out and Up haterade being passed out? The Dude does not abide, man...

Those are #1 and #2 on my Pixar list, respectively. Up was #1 until Inside Out definitely officially supplanted it.

I'd have to sit and think long and hard about the order, but my top 5 would be rounded out by some combo of Toy Story, Finding Nemo, WALL-E, and Toy Story 3. Yes I know blasphemy on putting 3 above 2 but whatever, 2 had the better story but 3 destroyed me in ways that cartoon movies about toys shouldn't be able to do.


I still think A Bugs Life never gets the love it deserves.

Inside Out is a top 5 Pixar movie

 

I should probably just go through all of the Pixar movies from start to finish, honestly. I’ve probably only seen about 2/3 of them.

I haven’t heard much about Coco to this point. Does it seem like it’ll be good?

 

This pretty much highlights all the same issues I had with Inside Out

 

getting reports about particular responses in this cop discussion, but frankly the discussion shouldn't be in the Brand New thread anyway. I'm not going to tell anyone in this thread how they should feel about police, take it to the Politics forum.

 

Why? This thread is a chat thread let's face it. Pretending like only Brand New discussion happens in here is just acting like you want to ignore what's going on

 

if there's a moderator who posts in this thread who wants to step in, they're welcome to. from my perspective, discussion of police belongs in the Politics forum, not the Science Fiction thread.

 

That's bullshit. Someone who posts in here regularly in what is defintely just a chat thread at his point, should be able to post about something serious that happened a few miles from his home, and he should be able to do so without getting attacked. @KennedyBN didnt side with terrorism in his hometown and basically got attacked for that, and criticized for being a "cop sympathizer".

When people are actively promoting violence, I don't care if it's against a cop or not, violence is violence, and we get told "talk about it somewhere else" that's weak. Really weak. Promoting violence shouldn't be allowed.

 

Basically there was a guy driving into people and stabbing people in my city last night with while holding an Isis flag and there are users that are thinking I'm a piece of shit person because I'm not celebrating the fact that the terrorist stabbed a cop while on his run. I don't know, like am I supposed to feel like a bad person because there was terrorism in my neighbourhood and I actually am totally against it?

And now I have a mod telling me to take this to the politics forum? This is bull shit

 

Guess movie discussions belong in the entertainment forums and personal lives in the general forums. Let's just go ahead wipe the last 300 pages of discussion, it's the wrong thread. SciFi only.


Also I thought overall the discussion was civil, not that it necessarily needs to be to be productive. I think everyone here respects each other enough and etc

if you want this to be a chat thread, then have it be a chat thread. people are free to be anti-police. I'm not telling you how to feel about what happened in your neighborhood, just as I'm not telling people how they should feel about police.

I had no idea this had been a chat thread for 300+ pages, so that's my bad. I saw a discussion on police happening in what I thought was the thread for a Brand New album, and (correctly, imo) assumed it wasn't going to end up anywhere productive.
