HEY GUYS! I decided it was Friday and I was going to go into work a little later, so I was going to take a later train. Of course I missed that train and got to watch it as it pulled away from me, so I had to take the next train, so my intentional lateness turned into actual lateness. Great start to the day.

But then once I finally get downtown, I'm walking to work, and I think ok it's a nice morning it's Friday, I've got this, and then wouldn't you know it a bird takes a shit on my head!!! (I wish I was joking but I'm really not).

Feels like some kind of metaphor for my life, idk let me know what you guys think.

Also, today is cancelled.

Are we still on fast food? My favorite isn't a particular place, but a style of fast food restaurant that was prevalent around Chicago growing up, and still exists to a lesser extent.

They're typically located on a corner on a busy, but not main, street in a neighborhood; usually they have yellow signs (red and white are common too), and they're usually named after a person, first name only, like Nicky's or Joe's or Kevin's or Freddie's.

And the menu is pretty consistent across all of them –

Burgers (including doubles and cheeseburgers)
Hot dogs
Italian beef
Italian sausage
Italian beef/sausage combo
Polish sausage
Chicken sandwich (no one ever orders this, at least not more than once)
Fish sandwich (only ordered during Lent)
Fries (steak cut or crinkle cut)
Mozzarella sticks
Pizza puffs

It's mostly nostalgia at this point, I haven't eaten at one in years. But they're always fantastic.

I noticed leaving work yesterday that a bird had shit on my bike, but luckily not while I was on it.

Also worked at a Chick-fil-A for a summer between college and graduate school. During the 2012 “Chick-fil-A hates gay people” debacle. It was a fun season.

One of the best places I’ve ever worked, but I had to quit because I was a newlywed starting grad school and working two jobs. Something had to be dropped.
