Here's someone's review on rym I mostly agree with (and rating for that matter, I also gave it 3/5)

Prawn are one of my favourite bands and their last LP, Kingfisher, is one of my favourite albums of all time. So it pains me to say that Run is really just not that great. Sure, there’s still the trademark twinkly guitars and the raspy/whiny lead vocals are as endearing as ever. But this time around all the post-rock is gone and has been replaced with pop punk. Don't get me wrong, I love pop punk. There's nothing inherently wrong with mixing twinkle-core with pop punk, bands like Somos and Transit have demonstrated that perfectly. The issue here is that the space which gave their previous music its magic and character been almost entirely replaced by generic pop punk melodies that are more grating than catchy, and as a result the songs are robbed of their emotional potential. There’s really no downbeat, introspective songs here which gave their previous albums time to breathe and reflect; instead, the record just lurches from anthem to anthem which gets old really fast. There’s still some great songs on here like “North Lynx” and “Leopard's Paw” and it’s not like this is an unlistenable album, but overall it is a very disappointing effort.

Highlights: North Lynx, Leopard's Paw, Greyhound, Split Logs

that's a bad review though? i don't think there's a general shift in direction from the last one at all for the most part? did this person not listen to the first two songs on kingfisher? did they not listen to settled? did they not listen to thallasa?

I don't know if this will appeal to people who don't like the original songs, so I'm curious how you'll feel about it.

Haaa I’ve been incredibly behind on this thread ever since Blake got banned. Seeing that there were hundreds of pages to sift through was kinda daunting...

Anyway, I didn’t end up reading them haha. So hyped to hear the new songs live in November. Waiting on the UK supports to be announced!

Like I bought a cd by Tool on ebay fairly recently. That's another band i've been meaning to properly check out for awhile now. The no music on streaming services is certainly a pretty big obstacle. So i bought 2 of their albums

That's her best record in my opinion. Joga is one of my all-time favorite songs
