I had to use my work email a lot, but other than that? Never.

I cant tell if you're being serious or not....but email is very relevant to almost anything mildly important. Work-emails, signing up for sites(Ebay, paypal, etc), somethings in real life require an email, etc.

Email is irrelevant to social media though, so it feels "dead"....even though it is very much not.
