I kinda hate that you gotta buy 2 packs of bagels at a time at Costco. I only want one and I don’t want to freeze any. Why is life so hard?

It's even worse for the front end assistant who has to run all the way to the back of the store to get a second thing of bagels every time someone didn't know they come in pairs.

True story. I tried working at Costco once. Two weeks after my interview I called to ask when Id hear back. They told me a computer crash had set them back with hiring and I'd hear in a few days. A few days later I called and they told me the same thing. That day in the mail I got a post card from Costco saying I didn't get the job.

 

I actually messed up and grabbed one the last time I was there but went back to grab a second one on my own.

 

He's good friends with John Nolan.

 

I’ve never bought bagels from Costco.

But those slider-size pretzel buns they have are fucking dangerous (and delicious).

 

Makes sense. I wonder if the 3 of them ever jam together lol

 

I got a job at Panera when I was in high school. I show up for my first day which was going to be an orientation more or less and they realized they hired two people for the same position. So since the other guy showed up first he got it over me.

The manager seemed like he felt pretty bad and asked me if I wanted some free food. I quickly said no because I was disappointed about not getting the job. Then I thought about it for a couple seconds, told him I had a change of heart (or stomach) and ordered a couple of the most expensive items on the menu.

It’s about 17 years later and my parents still boycott Panera because of this haha

 

The Parmesan bagels are delicious!

From my experience, their bagels tend to mold in four days or so, so you gotta eat them quick or freeze them.

 

Yeah I frequently wonder what John and Jesse's relationship is like now days. I know they were childhood friends. And Adam Lazarus thinks Jesse is a dick. And YBS has apparently tried to tour with Brand New and been shutdown according to a Reddit AMA

I thought his name was Adam JCPenney??

 

Anybody been watching that Ken Burns documentary on PBS, The Vietnam War??? Riveting stuff and Trent Reznor did the soundtrack

It is! I don't know my my phone autocorrected to Lazarus. It's not even close to JCPenney

 

I have no reason to belive they aren't still decent friends today. John doesn't live on Long Island anymore so maybe they don't see each other as much but I mean didn't Jesse jump on stage with stray light to do Play Crack the sky with them back before John rejoined TBS? I can't see why they wouldn't still be friendly.

 

In high school, my mom’s friend got me an interview at a big office supply store near the mall by our house.

I went and, though there seemed to be a little confusion when I showed up, had the interview and it seemed to go fine.

Later that night my mom asked me why I never showed up for the interview. I was very confused, and told her I did and all about it.

Turns out, I went to Office Max, right across the street from the mall, but the interview was at an Office Depot about a half mile south of the mall, which I wasn’t aware of.

Still not sure why the people at Office Max agreed to interview me, but needless to say I never got a call back.

I did end up getting the job at Office Depot after I went back the next day for a real interview.

 

This seemed apropos given the job stories from @Kingjohn_654 and @bachna84

Also, I’m not sure if I used “apropos” right, but you know what I mean.
