Seinfeld to me is a measuring stick of comedy. If you're not at least as funny as him, then you aren't funny.

 

"How did we arrive in this DARRRK situation?" "I dunno Dr. Loveless. i'm just as stumped as you are." I hate myself for laughing at that part just now but again, just adds to how over the top that whole movie was.

 

@fame how do you feel about It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? It's basically an Irish show, right?

 

@Kingjohn_654 heh, always sunny is probably the only currently airing (discounting arrested development here) american sitcom i enjoy. even though i think it has naturally dropped off a bit in the latter seasons, it's still managed to stay pretty consistent throughout it's run (which is pretty wild for a sitcom headed into it's 13th season).

I think the show has certainly changed a lot, but I like the newer seasons just as much as the older ones.

My fave episode is Mac and Dennis Move to the Suburbs.

I'm still kinda mad that you came into the BN thread being so rude to everyone. That wasn't cool. But then I was rude back and I feel bad about that because I should've been a better example.

Never watched a whole episode of Seinfeld until last night when I saw Hulu has it, so I watched the pilot. It was enjoyable but I didn't laugh even once. I know it is just the pilot episode, and it obviously is cited as a landmark comedy, but mark me disappointed so far.

 

The pilot was made way before any other episode. It is the worst episode by far. I recommend watching "the Contest" because that episode is when the show began to take over the world.

 

I watched it when it aired and have watched it completely at least twice after that. Now I put on random comedies like the office, scrubs, 30 rock, parks and recreation, Seinfeld as background noise because I know all the episodes and music is sometimes too distracting to me.

 

I love pierogies. There’s this place in Cleveland called Pierogie Palace and they have a ton of different kinds. Taco, Chili, Chicken Bacon Ranch, like probably 100 options. They even have dessert pierogies.

People in Ohio eat a lot.

Is the contest the "second" episode? Even if a show doesn't follow a clear narrative/chronological arc, I don't like to skip into the middle of a season. I usually just power through the bad if I know it will be good.

in fairness i bit my tongue while the actual rankings were happening but as soon as they were over i felt i could express my joy at the expense of the "game"
