Are you a wine drinker yourself?

 

Oh, you better believe it! Just attended the "Purple Foot Festival" Sunday at my local winery, and I do a tour of the finger lakes every winter called "Deck The Halls" where you go to 40+ wineries.

 

Fuck! That sounds awesome. I'm planning a trip with the lady to come up to the finger lakes soon. Any suggestions for what town or area to stay in? Wineries to check out?

 

If you told me to guess I honestly would've said like 3 - 5 years.

 

We need a Chinese food bracket, as brackets are requirement for this website.

Awesome! I'd probably look at staying in Geneva. It'll make it a easy drive to do an awesome tour still. Some of my favorites are:

Three Brothers Winery- A winery with 3 separate wineries in it. (Owned by 3 brothers) Three totally different vibes, and wines at each specific winery.
Fruityard Vineyards- Wines made with different fruits like Cherries, Pears, etc.
Fulkerson has some creative wines, including one I like called "Red Zeppelin"
Hazlitt is fun because they have a song they do for their Red Cat wine "Red Cat Red Cat it's an aphrodisiac Red Cat Red Cat it'll get you in the sack" Everyone will sing it before they all try it. They have a lot of fun there.

Even some of the wineries that don't have the BEST wines, just seeing the beautiful wineries is half of the experience. Some of them are GORGEOUS buildings outside and inside, with incredible views on their decks. Definitely try to go in the fall/early winter. That's the most gorgeous time of year there. Also, make sure you try Ice Wines if they have any for you to try, and mulled wines if they're available as well!

Awesome we stayed in Geneva on our way to Ithaca (to see BN) last fall. Finger Lakes region in the fall was breathtaking. The drive itself was entertaining also didn't hurt that the weather was incredibly and unseasonably warm.

Oh and I'm currently listening to Mike Mains & The Branches first record (finally) after liking the second one so much. And yeah I love this guy. So good so far!
