Speaking of religion/commitment just watched episode 3 (season 2) of Leah Remini: Scientology and the aftermath. One of the best episodes so far but so hard to watch. This cult is wrong on so many levels. Extremely sad that they can masquerade as a religion. Really wish there was more that could be done to denounce them and take em down

i think its really really cool youre taking lessons and wanting to learn at your age. most people just say "i wish i wouldve learned when i was younger", but youre never too old to learn!

Yeah let's hear them?! And yeah I always told myself I was probably too old, then I decided "Screw that, you've always wanted to. Just do it!" And then I had visions of myself playing Desert and I knew I had to learn.

 

Good Man, Play Crack The Sky, Soco (this is a good one if youre practicing power chords), Boy Who Blocked, and actually the beginning parts of Sowing Season a good one to practice simple chords. jesse uses that first chord in sowing season sooooooo many times.

im doing good btw. im just bored right now because my lady is doing homework and im just listening to tunes. currently listening to Petal, she is really cool.

 

It is long, that's what held me back for a while as well! I'm still not finished yet but I've been reading lyrics as I listen so I can take in everything. It's a great album with a lot going on. I think many people on here would enjoy it too (RIYL indie / art rock, The National, Bruce Springsteen, Australian bands like Cub Sport or Holy Holy, heartfelt songs about depression/anxiety/hope going forward).
I was surprised by the strings and how much variety is sprinkled throughout the album, though! There's no band like them in Australia

any other Brand New songs that are fairly easy for a beginner that Connor could learn?

she studies Child and Youth care. shes in her second year.

Jesus is really simple when you get the hang of it but it sounds a bit more complex than those others. Really pretty to play + sing along to and I recommend you learn it!

 

the notes are easy but the feel and articulation is very hard

A little more challenging but in a month or so you should learn to play At The Bottom. That one is really fun and not too difficult. Just the feel and articulation

 

basically within the first 6 months of playing guitar if you really commit yourself there wont be many brand new songs you couldnt learn with practice
