Hi, new here (though I actually used to lurk a lot around the old AP days).
Does anyone else interpret "Could Never Be Heaven" as being addressed to God? As in, it's not possible for "heaven" to exist without a god. I feel like a lot of the lyrics make sense this way. I thought the "you" in the song would be his wife, but later in the song he says "my wife's heart" in the third not second person, and I think the sentiment of there not being a heaven makes more sense if it's about God.
And "all the songs were about you" - a lot of songs especially on TDAG touch on religion and God.
"Lord I have no courage" - doesn't necessarily mean anything, but could point towards the song being about God as a whole.
"God is dead" / "Get out of my head" - He wants there to be a god, but is finding it harder to believe in.

Does that make sense to anybody else?

 

This is a great interpretation, it's very possible this actually what the song is about. I hadn't thought about it this way

 

I watched one more episode of Atlanta before I went to sleep. It was the one where Earn was in jail being processed. I really wanted to start the third episode but it was getting late. I figure I'll probably watch a couple each night for the next few nights.

We have a GetGo near us (affiliated with Giant Eagle-is that a thing other places?) which is about five miles closer than Circle K, so we never go to Circle K.

 

I bounce back and forth between the song being sung toward God (could never be heaven without You), or being sung about his wife and children (could never be heaven without you).

Emphasis on the upper case Y and the lower case y.

 

This album is great to cook lunch to.

Also fun fact, there is a somewhat fun/somewhat lame amusement park where I live called Lagoon. After getting frustrated with my car project, me and my wife went last night cause it's all decked out in Halloween stuff. Anyways this dude cut in line in front of us and he looked EXACTLY like the pizza boy in Home Alone
