Little late to the autumn game but:

WATT is my second favorite album but I agree with every word of this. It's a summer album to me.

Also we forgot Sing the Sorrow. Another obvious one.

Lastly, idr who recommended contortionist but thank you, it's sweet.

 

I've made my decision. Because it is free and is about a half hour shorter than a few of my other possible picks, tonight is a Nocturnal Animals night.

 

I still havent seen Nebraska which is ridiculous of me. Since im such a huge Alexander Payne fan.

I’m at the NFG/Bayside Riot Fest aftershow. The first band (Radar State) just went on, but it’s already past my bedtime.

 

Speaking of Dern, did you ever end up watching Citizen Ruth with Laura Dern?

Also Speaking of Alexander Payne movies, I just saw that Election is getting the Criterion treatment in December. Sideways is like Gravity to me people hate those movies because they got a lot of acclaim and its not cool to like them but personally I think they both rule.

I wish! I have 2 kids who don’t sleep past 7 and who are just little bundles of pure energy. 3-4 hours sleep will not cut it.

 

The 2nd verse in Could Never be Heaven is so good when the second guitar kicks in ever so slightly. And the lyrics paint such a vivid picture especially in that verse. Love that song so much.

 

I think this is the first day since release that I haven't listened to a single track off SF

 

I have not listened to SF all week! But that whole song is glorious.

I've been listening more and more as time passes. Favorite (and least) songs have largely stayed the same but I'm getting excited for different songs with each listen.

 

Not trying to derail this thread but any Alfonso Cuaron or Darren Aronofsky fans in here?

Sorry back to SF. This album is well i've ran out of adjectives to describe it at this point. I will find the time to write a post and include pictures of the cd on instagram at some point over the weekend hopefully to truly do it justice. I feel the same way about SF as i did about TDAG. I'm in awe.

Sidenote: currently watching Trollhunter on Netflix and it's great

 

Children of Men is easily in my top ten. I thought Gravity was incredibly underwhelming so I will be cautiously optimistic with his next project. Noah might be the worst movie I've ever paid for. The rest of Aronofsky's movies are ok I guess??? I might check out mother! just cause I've seen the rest of his work and people seem to be talking about it a bunch, for better or worse.

Man I'm the only person who liked Noah it seems. The Fountain is my favorite Aronofsky though. I also love Pi

 

There was another guy on here who thought Noah was one of the best movies he's ever seen. He recently got banned lol
