shins and gimme fiction are usually pretty cheap if you're looking to prioritize. Also sup @littlejohn a fellow amazon record shopper. man, watching those prices is like my own personal stock market lol

A couple years ago my friend had a friend giving away all of their cds, and my friend knew it was filled with all stuff I like so he gave them to me. It had literally every scene classic imaginable so I own a ton of cds. Really I already had a ton before then too.

I have more than 700 CDs, 400 DVDs and started collecting vinyl about three years ago - so about 100 LPs.

I honestly have no desire to ever get rid of my CDs or DVDs despite never touching them. It wouldn't be worth the minimal amount of money I could sell to anyone or any buybacks type of place.

yeah I know i'm not going to make any money off of them, it's more about the 2 tubs of cd cases I have in the garage that are just taking up space. plus the numerous books of cds I have. I don't want to get rid of the actual cds but want to reclaim the space in the garage.

Trying to make space out there so I can set up my crappy drum set for me, my wife and kids to play. should be fun if I ever get around to it.

Yeah, my CDs have been boxed up in like 4 or 5 tubs for the past 3 or 4 years now. I moved into my house in April of 2014 and never took them out. We have a nice little storage area in our laundry room in our basement so that's where I keep a lot of that type of stuff.

My DVDs were spread across two bookcases in our spare bedroom for years, but now we have no spare bedrooms (damn kids) so I put them all into one book case and moved them into the basement (which is now being finished, so I just boxed them up last week :(

I only have like 20 dvds and haven't watched any of them. I'm trying to get rid of stuff we don't use because our garage is just full of boxes and junk. I'd like to have space for drums a workbench to build stuff/electronics and be able to actually use my tools out there.

we were pretty motivated in the spring (after my wife watched the minimalist movie) and got started giving stuff away to people or goodwill or on nextdoor.

while I think I could part with the jewel cases I don't think I can give up my boxes of baseball/football cards. I just have too many and used to love those things hope to pass that hobby down to my kids.

I can't believe how many CDs you guys have. Y'all must be in a completely different tax bracket than me.

Honestly, I started collecting CDs when I was 6-years-old. My family was always super into music and I had older sisters. My first two CDs were Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion II and Young Guns II soundtrack, which was all Bon Jovi, haha. When I was a teenager I'd buy CDs obsessively. I had a job at a grocery store and every week would pretty much spend my entire paycheck on CDs at Best Buy. I bought them all the way up until about 3 or 4 years ago and I started buying vinyl instead.

DVDs however, I always bought mostly used. I'd go to a buybacks type of place and purchase like 10 used DVDs at a time for $40 or $50 bucks. I'd say only about 30% of my DVD collection were bought new.

I stopped buying CDs almost 15 years ago. In fact I don't even have a medium to play CDs on right now hah. Neither my laptop nor my car stereo has a CD drive.

I don't know what the minimalist movie is but we NEED to watch it if it'll make my wife start giving things away, haha. We have SO. MUCH. STUFF. everywhere in my house. Half of my house could be given away or sold because it's filled with things we don't need or don't use at all. Especially kids clothes that we'll never use again.

I first started buying CD's via those Listening Stations at HMV. That's how I discovered Something Corporate and Coheed & Cambria for sure. And unfortunately Hoobastank also.

its on netflix, or it was not sure if it still is. it's pretty good. definitely makes you think about stuff differently.

for kids clothes: my wife has been selling our kids old clothes on kidizen and poshmark, she's made a decent amount of money considering it's just old kids clothes.

I'd look into those apps if you're not weary of shipping stuff to people. kind of like ebay only not as big and not auction style stuff.

Went with the TCL 55 inch. Decided I could wait a couple years for OLED prices to drop more.

ok. good choice I guess. I would have gone with the 65" hisense for $900 I think. but my wife won't let me (yet)
