I remember like 12 or so years ago I was doing some holiday shopping at the mall and I was in Yankee Candle and Vendetta Red was playing over the speakers. It was weird and really out of place haha

 

yeah that's weird, I thought they only had the 2 albums. I never heard their first 2 apparently

 

I love bands that are either underrated and never get huge but are ok with it, or were truly great and then just disappeared or disbanded for whatever reason. I think Name Taken is really up there for me. Hold On is a great, great pop rock/punk album I still spin regularly. The drumming is my idea of fun when I want to play covers.

A couple others in no particular order that I'm catching on a scroll through iTunes would include:

Troubled Coast (Rock, Post-Hardcore, somewhat Spoken Word. I've Been Thinking About Leaving You EP & Awake And Empty. Not sure where they went. The early EP's suck but they had some really great tracks on these two releases)

Owen (Acoustic, Indie. He's actually got an insane catalog, but I always feel like if people didn't listen to AF then they've never heard of Mike's work in Owen)

Smoke Or Fire (Political Punk/Rock. Above The City & PKF 7". Currently on hiatus, I caught them live once opening for Silverstein. Amazing energy and sound live)

The Stryder (Rock. Masquerade In The Key Of Crime. After that album, member changes hindered the band's sound and only 1 more LP came to fruition anyways)

Further Seems Forever (Indie Rock. The Moon Is Down & Penny Black. This is probably the most well known of the bands I've listed, but still they are criminally underrated. Chris Carraba's two albums with them are some of my favorite work he's ever been a part of.)

There are plenty of others I'd be happy to share. I have a collection of music with a number I'm scared to share on the internet. I could go through more but it's late and I don't even know if these are good! Who tf do I think I am!

 

I also think Pinback, who I initially found annoying when my wife (then girlfriend) listened to them. they have a ton of albums but are not really popular anywhere that I've seen? very catchy songs, guitars and vocals are great.

Yet another record that turned 10. Very underrated/underappreciated record. Heavier release for Gob and I love it.

I haven't been to any show since late 2014. :/
That's what I get for living somewhere without family or friends to watch our kids.

 

haha same situation here for us. no family to drop our kids off with or force to come over. my wife and I have been to like 3 shows in the past 3 years together. Brand new last june?, Thursday in April in Houston, and Incubus/JEW in august. my wife has family in houston that watched them that time, the brand new show we had her grandma come in from houston to watch the kids and incubus/JEW we got lucky and my brother was in town from el paso.
