Yeah color me lost on the King Krule hype. I want to like it but its so banal and lacking in musicality that it doesn't work for me.

I personally love his vocals, think they fit incredibly well with the music but get how people don't. With that being said, everything backing the vocals is just as great and interesting. It's one of the better albums of the year

 

I didn't like any of his previous stuff but I'll give the record a spin tomorrow

Hard to take anyone serious when they say yo in a serious conversation. I think your intentions are right, but you're going about it the wrong way.

 

I have nothing concrete to base this on, but I feel like trying to talk to Garret would be the biggest challenge

 

I get what you mean, but the language/vernacular someone uses shouldn't change the seriousness of a claim. I'm not accusing you of this, but that can be a super slippery slope into just more problematic territory of invalidating accusations.

I'm more annoyed that when asked "what are you talking about" they refused to actually link to the things he was saying, and refused to acknowledge that he apologized and has called out Surfer Blood before and after those posts. Also the idea that someone who's fucked up in the past can't work on correcting that behavior in the future by calling shit out is beyond ridiculous.

 

I will check that one out too. Still haven't heard it. Been listening to more Canadian bands today. July Talk thanks to @vidiviciveni and just finished the new album by The Glorious Sons.

I mentioned them today but the Canadian Phantogram aka Dear Rouge just announced that they are releasing a new single on Friday. I recommend their album Black to Gold. I quite enjoy it. I see myself continuing this listening to Canadian bands mood throughout the week.

Been away for a while in this thread. There was no way I’d be able to catch up on all of it, but it seems like some shit went down. He can’t heal all wounds, but listening Mark Hollis is a step in the right direction for mending. And Björk...maybe that’s one of the keys. Not THE key for healing the divide, but one of them. Listen to anything from those two people immediately.

Somebody came in and brought up some past posts (vaguely) by @cwhit in a different thread awhile back. We were talking about Louie ck and the accusations around him and how it doesn't look good. And thus person came in telling Casey to stop being a hypocrite because of what they said in the past. Casey apologized for their past posts and that wasn't enough I guess.

Best summary from what I could understand of it.

 

Casey called out Luis C.K. and talked about the accusations against him. Then some dude came in after Casey
