Who here didn't like Science Fiction, or hated it?

 

Has there been any information on the limited vinyl?

 

I played the new Movements record this morning. Pretty solid stuff. @teebs41 i can see why you were saying you might like it more than Citizen's new record. Production is definitely a bit better why is sad to say since this is their debut and Citizen are on their third record. I really like both though. @KidLightning have you heard it? @mattfreaksmeout think you would dig it too. It's definitely RIYL Citizen.

 

Just waiting for those responses to report.

 

I honestly know nothing about them personally than that Chad dated Avril, and is kind of a douche.

 

Haven't heard the new one, but I've listened to their EP before and really liked it. I'll have to check it out. Don't know if I realized it was out already.

 

They're not bad, but they're one of those bands who just seem to be taking cues from other bands and riding on them rather than bringing anything new to the table. For instance, I just went to go hear a newer single from this new release you mentioned, and the music video is them in front of a projector wearing white tees. Counterparts did that last year for the Stranger music video. Not to mention the plural noun name.

I just need something brand spanking new that no one else is doing. SciFi answered that call in August, but there have only been a handful of releases this year I really loved.

 

I just don't know who listens to a song like "Radioactive" and hears a hit single. The guy just yells the whole chorus and then yells the word "radioactive". It's not anywhere near a good song let alone a mainstream radio hit, but what do I know.

Nickelback's latest stuff crushes anything Imagine Dragons has written.

 

Whichever side we're on, surely we can all appreciate that without Nickelback we wouldn't have The Greatest Youtube Parody of All Time™:

 

Yeah I see what your saying. I mean they are definitely still growing into their own and finding their sound. This being their debut I'm willing to see where they go from here. Imo they have a ton of potential. I mentionned this in the album thread that the album def reminds me of a few bands and at first I couldn't pinpoint exactly which ones I was thinking about so it was actually distracting. Eventually it came to me and I remembered who i was thinking of. Some of this really reminds me of Tickle Me Pink and their album Madeline. Definitely hear some La Dispute in their sound too. Overall the album is a definite improvement on the EP and they still have room to grow. Definitely a band I will be interested in following from here on out.

 

It's an awful record. Listened to it once, and could barely make it through that listen

Most bands don't just start right off the bat with a brand new sound. It takes some time to grow into yourselves as a band, and during that time, of course you are going to lean on your influences.

They've only said "shipping this month." So T-8 days until disappointment

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but there are tickets for like...$10 after fees for the Charleston show on seatgeek. Not entirely sure how legit as I've never used them before.
