ha that sucks.

 

Well, jeez. I’ve seen about a dozen Brand New shows and I think that was the best one. Holy cow. They’ve finally embraced theatricality with their light show and it pays major dividends. Jesse’s voice has 100% NEVER sounded this good live. Vinnie clearly spent the last year deciding he wanted to be a guitar god. Kevin Devine was hopping up and down for two hours like he was having the time of his life... as if he were just some kid and his favorite band called up and said “why don’t you leave your bedroom and play with us”.

If this is the last time for a while that I ever see my favorite band, I’m good with it. But something about tonight makes me real hopeful... I’ve always thought they should be the biggest band in the world, and based on tonight, I think they have the live show and catalog to do it. Long live Brand New.

 

man I wish this tour was coming to austin. also wish I could make the trip to dallas for it.

 

We are watching a show on Hippos called Hippo Supremacy and tbh they are truly fascinating creatures. Actually quite interesting but also hilarious

 

Hippos are great man. Their necks can extend really far to gobble up white marbles and they're always hungry hungry.

 

hippos are probably the scariest animal to confront face to face. (that's not extinct)

 

I realllllllyyyy wanna listen to this on vinyl at my buddy’s house. His dad is like a nutso audiophile and is constantly upgrading is sound system. Next time I’m back home I need to make this a priority

Well holy shit that was incredible. Posted a ton of videos on my fb and insta for fb friends!

 

I don’t know about biggest band in the world, but I definitely found myself halfway through the show thinking this is legitimately an all time great band that will never get the recognition it deserves as far as that goes because too many people only know them as a pop punk band. They are a generational band and that’s that.

If they put out two more albums as good as Science Fiction and got the right press, they could be headlining Glastonbury by 2020.
