I'm 32 and I only really have 1 concert going buddy because he still listens to (mostly) everything I do. All my other friends have either moved away or lost interest in the music or new music/band's.

Personally, outside of 8-10 of my favorite bands/artists, I don't keep up much on new music either. Not even close as to what I used to. In my teens/early 20s I was consistently hellbent on finding new bands/music to listen to. Now I just don't have the time or the desire.

EDIT: and my wife has ZERO interest in the music I listen to, haha.

 

On an unrelated note, I’m seeing Demetri Martin tonight! Very rare that my wife and I have back-to-back nights out. A shout out to my mom for her babysitting services!

 

This was me and then I found the the hotelier in accident and suddenly I realized there was ton of stuff I was missing out on. I totally get it though it can be tough when real life gets in the way.

 

anyone know when the limited preorder vinyls ship? we’re balls deep in Octoby and i’m anxious

 

They don’t even have them yet from what I heard, probably late October or early November

I’d love to but the last couple weeks of October are really busy for me here at home and I couldn’t swing it. I see it’s sold out now anyway

You probably already do this, but I typically call the day of the show to get set times.

 

Don't get me wrong, if I hear a band I'm interested in, I'll undoubtedly check it out. I'm just not cruising the internet anymore investigating new bands to listen to. Last fall, I fell in love with Sorority Noise just bc I saw them open for Bayside. So I'll still get into newer bands, just not nearly as much as I used to

 

Oh yeah, it's my go to move around 2 pm of the show day, haha. I'd guess they'll go on between 9 and 930. I should be fine.

 

Drive thru liquor stores? What? Never heard, in my town theres an ordiance McDonalds isnt even allowed to have a drive thru lol.

I'm in a similar boat, up until sometime last year I kept up on every new project from whoever seemed interesting/i liked/and or was buzzing. Unfortunately, I have no friends with similar tastes as a whole, it's "Porttia likes that, share that with her. Abe like that, share that with him. Brittany (my girl) likes this, share that with her." My girl being the only one who is close by enough to even go to any shows with. Though... some of the artists we have mutual interest in are great (Toro y Moi, Tyler, Earl, Young Thug, Tame Impala, etc). Outside the shared stuff though? My girl side eyes my interests lol. "Im not in the mood for your sad boy/evil trap/black metal/etc stuff rn Joshua." lol

Now though it's hard for me to find the time to really DIVE IN like I use to, I'll stumble across artists, every so often one sticks, but outside stuff like Soundcloud (cus its on the go and easy) and what i see/hear from friends/online be it here or twitter (my two mains), I don't even know places for leaks anymore lol.
