Nah I'll pop in every now and then to talk about how I don't like things everyone else likes, it's in my nature

 

its just a huuuuge sounding song and has a vibe thats unlike anything else theyve ever attempted. which for them is saying a lot.

 

I feel like you could say this abut 4 or 5 of the songs on this album.

 

YFW is more nostalgia based but I will say from an entirely selfish perspective I wish they incorporated more of that album in to their set lists. I prefer hearing their faster, catchier songs than the jam based songs they started writing circa TDAG

 

I still don't get the people put off by Desert's lyrics....It's 100% obvious based on everything we know about Jesse and his beliefs that he's not expressing those views personally, but rather what an evangelical right winger is thinking these days. And he does it awesomely. Fuck the fox news loving homophobic nationalist bullshit asshats. I still love the "heard a voice" parts standing in as the right wing media filling the head of the narrator with doom and gloom.

 

I'm not put off by it because I don't understand the POV devices he used in writing the song, I'm put off by it because I think it's kind've a poorly written way to address those issues

 

While I agree it's definitely clear he's singing as a character, I can see how some people could be bothered by some of those lines especially if they've heard that before personally.

 

My wife’s twin sister and boyfriend are at my apartment. Neither me or my wife are really interacting with them. I’m just watching the Oilers lose. Why won’t my sister in law get the freaking hint and go home!!!

I'm totally the guy not getting the hint. This is something I'm sure I'm often guilty of, but in my defense, I didn't want to leave my house in the first place.

everytime i think im leaving on time the person acts like why am i going so soon, then if i stay it always goes to "well, i hate to cut this short" and that always makes me feel odd cus as much as i love seeing friends and such, im usually tryna go home first all the time. social situations just wear me down lol.

 

Haha that’s amazing. Yeah my wife has to work at 5:30 in the morning so I keep mentioning how she is getting ready for bed and is tired. They just keep doing faceswaps on their phones and giggling. Haha I’m also extra harsh cause since it’s my wife’s twin sister, I spend too much of my time with her

My wife's twin sister lives 2 hours away, and we still spend every other weekend together. At least I get along well with my brother in law

It's nice that Foo Fighters didn't make this list.

 

Drake - Views was such a bummer for me after Nothing Was The Same. That album meant SO MUCH to me at a time I needed it most, and Views just felt so bland.

 

Like two hours yeah. Just got home, gotta study for another midterm in the morning but I won’t stay up as late.


Lol @fenway89 being held captive to guests. That can be so uncomfortable. I remember as a kid, sometimes I’d wake up and someone would be downstairs and I’d just stay in my room until they left, even if it meant being there all day haha

Yeah we live like 5 minutes away. And her boyfriend is one of my old highschool friends, which you think would be great but I’m grumpy and get tired of him quickly. He is better than her ex husband though. Guy was a douche
