I see your point, for sure. Certain tracks from Daisy are tremendously well done. I will always love "You Stole".
Daisy is the only Brand New album I think is great from beginning to end, but The Devil & God has some of the band's best songs on it. Insane that it has such massive influence after just 10 years. Feels as timeless and Ziggy Stardust almost.
Eh...matter of opinion, I suppose. "Sowing Season", "Millstone", "Jesus Christ", "Limousine" and "Handcuffs" will go down as classics. One observation I had is that users on allmusic(and allmusic themselves)prefer TDAG. Though they praised the experimentation on Daisy.
I would say 3 albums after Favourite Weapon are pretty flawless for me. I cannot stand YFW other than the odd song though.
And I would actually put Daisy slightly above TDAG. Don't ask me why. I just go back to it more. Both great albums and within a whisker of eachother though.
I don't see how Daisy is better, but it's definitely a matter of opinion. I'm not really attracted to abrasive music for the most part and Daisy seemed to fall into that category. I feel like I'm just getting through songs when I listen to Daisy. I don't feel like that with Devil and God. I enjoy the songs and can't wait to hear the next one.
