Chelsea She Don’t Want Nobody Near (have a soft spot for AIL though) Baby, I’m a Big Star Now Sessions Most of these were pretty close though
Chelsea Accidentally In Love Baby, I'm a Big Star Now Love and Addiction Also, A&EA is like the b-side. It was released on the flip of "Hanginaround," I still have the CD. The "Tuesday" studio recording wasn't attached to anything because an ex (I think Courtney Cox) would've had a co-write credit, but Adam posted it on Twitter at one point. Not saying it should be included, although it's one of the greats, but just a note.
Chelsea Accidentally in Love Baby, I'm a Big Star Now Love and Addiction Lotta different flavours here
Welp, got another tiebreaker on my hands. “She Don’t Want Nobody Near” is great, but in the end, Shrek 2 always wins. Goin’ Down to New York Town (“Chelsea” rips, but this is a cool punky song deserving of love) Accidentally in Love Einstein on the Beach (For an Eggman) Love and Addiction (looks like some of you forgot how to sing like hummingbirds) Which makes our winners... Goin’ Down to New York Town - 1 Chelsea - 6 Accidentally in Love - 4 She Don’t Want Nobody Near - 3 Baby, I’m a Big Star Now - 4 Einstein on the Beach (For an Eggman) - 3 Love and Addiction - 3 Sessions - 4 Round Three next!
Duly noted! But I swear to you, I could not find a version of “August and Everything After” that wasn’t a live recording.
Y’all are crazy. Einstein on the Beach may be the catchiest song they have ever written, Mr Jones included.
Yeah it's the live version on the CD, so there is no studio version (yet). Accidentally in Love Baby, I'm a Big Star Now
Accidentally in Love Baby I’m a Big Star Now These were tough but I gotta give AIL a vote since it was the song that introduced me to this band haha
Accidentally In Love (This one was extremely difficult for me. I think that Chelsea is the “better song” but I just enjoy Accidentally In Love a bit more) Sessions (This is about dead even too...I’ll give the tiebreaker to Sessions because at least it’s on Apple Music)
And we come to the end of our B-Side semifinals! Winners in bold... Chelsea - 1 Accidentally in Love - 3 Baby, I’m a Big Star Now - 3 Sessions - 1 The Finals begin next!
B-Sides FINAL ROUND Accidentally in Love vs. Baby, I’m a Big Star Now Seeing as it’s Christmas Eve, this round will also remain open for 48 hours. I will post my list of potential covers tomorrow for you all to peruse and add to at your leisure. Happy Holidays, everyone!
I’ll commit to letting Accidentally in Love take it home. It’s the song that introduced me to the band, too :)
So what all will be included in the covers round? I’m assuming: the entirety of Underwater Sunshine (17 songs) Big Yellow Taxi Friend Of The Devil The Ghost In You Anything else?
Criminy, 48+ hours to decide a winner and we still came to a tie! I cast my vote for “Accidentally in Love,” the deserving winner of this whole round! Accidentally in Love - 3 Baby, I’m a Big Star Now - 2 My apologies for my recent slips in keeping this thread updated. In my defense, yesterday was Christmas, but either way, daddy probably needs a break after this bracket it wrapped up. I don’t have the official match-ups for Covers done yet, since I wanted make sure y’all felt my list was complete. I will post the list for your approval in just a minute...
For the potential covers contenders, @bachna84 covered nearly all of them. They would include all of Underwater Sunshine, which covers... Untitled (Love Song) Start Again Hospital Mercy Meet on the Ledge Like Teenage Gravity Amie Coming Around Ooh La La All My Failures Return of the Grievous Angel Four White Stallions Jumping Jesus You Ain’t Going Nowhere The Ballad of El Goodo Borderline Girl from the North Country And then these stragglers... Mean Jumper Blues This Land is Your Land Big Yellow Taxi Friend of the Devil Didn’t run into “The Ghost in You,” can anyone remind me where that came from? Does this list look acceptable to people?
There's also the cover of "Blues Run The Game" that would probably be my winner if it gets in. It's from the iTunes Live from SoHo album.
