Met someone tonight who had similar music tastes and while exchanging bands we we’re Into I mentioned Thursday and she hadn’t heard of them, despite also being into underoath/circa/other members of the old guard. Always shocks me how big they didn’t get.
I feel like they were one of the bigger bands from the scene in the early 2000s. War all the Time - which came out my freshman year of College - did pretty well on the Billboard Charts and Signals over the Air was all over MTV. I remember walking through dorms and it seems like Thursday was a very common band to be hearing. Like, in 2003, they were definitely bigger than TBS, MCR, B***d N*W (although those bands would become bigger) Even ACBTLD was Top 20 on the Billboard Charts. Pretty shocking that someone who would be into Underoath/Circa wouldn't know who Thursday is tbh (although admittedly, I couldn't name an Underoath or Circa song - but I've heard of them).
And with that, You Were The Cancer is the overall winner for the Thursday brackets - good job, everyone! Final Totals: Understanding In A Car Crash - 5 You Were The Cancer - 13 ------------------------- Thank you again to all who have participated these past several weeks - I hope you've all enjoyed yourselves. Stay tuned for a mewithoutYou bracket which will be starting in the next couple of weeks!
missed this last round but I vote cancer. great result, even if some albums promoted the wrong songs.

So I totally forgot the Championships were gonna be a thing here But Cancer winning is about as perfect as I can think for a final winner, so good job
