Who Wrote Holden Caulfield better win against Welcome to Paradise. Had it been the Dookie version, I'd be fine with it, but WWHC is definitely one of the best pre-Dookie songs.

 

Other than the production, there really isn't much of a difference between Kerplunk's Paradise to Dookie's Paradise, correct? The lyrics and instrumentals are exactly the same, no?

 

Kerplunk's WTP sounds nowhere near as good as Dookie's. If it beats Caulfield that'll be a big shame. I kind of can't believe people are even voting for this version.

Also Caulfield is just the better song. I'm literally going insane trying to wrap my mind around this happening lol

 

Kerplunk WTP is not the same as Dookie's!!

 

I mean, yeah, the quality is better on Dookie because it was likely re-recorded and produced with a higher budget but...it's pretty much the same song.

It's like watching a standard DVD vs a Blu-Ray DVD. Sure the quality is better, but ultimately, it's the same thing.

Like, what, are we gonna have two different versions of Welcome To Paradise advance, potentially? I just don't get it.

 

I don't like the situation either, but when this version of the song is included in the bracket, i can't vote against it when I think it's the superior song.

 

I voted for Caulfield, but Paradise is an incredible song. I can’t be mad for people voting for the inferior version of a still great song.

 

Disagree hard. I think Welcome to Paradise is a much better song, even if this version is the lesser of the two.

 

At least the Dookie version shouldn't win that bracket, there are at least 8 better songs than it on Dookie

 

I would def put some over Paradise. But I don’t think it would be 8 for me. Paradise is top 5 on Dookie, for sure.

 

I am on team Caulfield through and through, even if talking about the Dookie version tbh
