I shared in another thread that my 2 favorite albums overall were American Idiot and The Black Parade (both rock operas). Just curious as to which one people think is the better album.

 

The Black Parade, by a mile

 

Black Parade and it's not really close to me. Which is something I really wouldn't have expected to be saying even 5 years ago

 

I would probably lean that way as well, but it might be a bit closer for me.

 

They aren’t written to be their own stand alone song.

Not sure why this is so complicated.

But that’s not the point of this voting at all. And I don’t care.

My only point is that it’s okay to just state a preference sometimes. You don’t need to make up some stupid reasoning to justify it.

 

This may be blasphemous, but I think I prefer this album to AI. Feels more musically diverse and, while there aren't the highs of Jesus of Suburbia, I think it's more consistent as a whole. Anyway:

Maybe the person who gave that reasoning initially just wanted to share their thoughts. Are these bracket threads limited to only the song titles? No. The thoughts and discussion are a part of it.

 

I’m not a fan of stupid thoughts. I like to hear reasons behind song preference if there is one. If it’s just nonsense, I prefer to not see it.
