From a post on Facebook: Hello! Let’s talk about BNO. Y’all have been so rad and supportive since we stopped playing. Thank you for that. The band has been offered a few opportunities to perform live. We have had to decline these offers since I (Connor…hi!) am the only member of the band who still has any interest in performing live music. We are all still friends and there is no animosity between band members. Let’s make that clear from the jump-off. To that point, if I (Connor…hi, again) were to perform a BNO set with some friends of mine holding down the instrumentation, would YOU consider this to be an acceptable shape for a live show to take? I have talked to the band…Jeff, Dave, Ben and Rob…and they fully back this idea, but do YOU? Would this be something worth pursuing, or would it be yucky and gross? I won’t move this forward if it is a bad idea, but I would like to think that we may be able to have some fun singing along to some songs which have meant the world to me. Discuss!
If there's no objections from the former members, then there's no good reason not to. Trainwreck is still a pinnacle of the genre and of concept albums as a whole. Can't imagine the feeling of getting to hear some of those tracks live.
100% worth it! If you're in Philly or Jersey I'd be there. What's the worst that can happen?!? I think people would be cool with it especially knowing that you are all on good terms. Plenty of bands with only one remaining member who are not on good terms still playing after sloppy situations lol. Love to hear BNO live again. Trainwreck was a pivotal album in my life, I never understood how it didn't become huge.
BNO are apparently back and supporting Armor For Sleep on their tour. Anyone have details on who's back / who's not?
Yep. The rest of the band have regular jobs and families and didn’t want to head back out, but he got their support.
Surprised the story from their patreon didn’t make it into this thread. That said my BNO vinyl delivered today and I’m loving it!
Why he started the band back up. It’s in the about section of their patreon. ==== In the second half of 2024 a difficult decision was made to bring the band back to the stage with only one founding member...me, Connor Lovat-Fraser, the singer guy. I approached my former bandmates to make sure they were okay with my pursuit of this path and, thankfully, all were on board. I owe them the world for their unwavering support and encouragement. The new band, playfully referred to (by me) as "Connor and the Scabs," consists of myself along with Scott Komer (Bass), Matt McCausland (Drums), Joe Baldasio (Lead Guitar), and Jet Turner (Rhythm Guitar). Scott and I began playing music together in a band called The Pettit Project in the late 90's. He is also responsible for the production and engineering of the original BNO 2-song demo, You Are My Canvas, Make Yourself Sick, Trainwreck demo and Self-Titled demo, as well as 50 Million People Can't Be Wrong. We currently perform together in The Scary Loud with Matt (also a former member of the Pettit Project) and Joe (who played guitar in the hardcore band, Twin Rivals, with Scott). Jet and I have known each other for years. He is a killer guitarist whose particular playing style lends itself perfectly to the original sound of Boys Night Out. These fine gentlemen rallied around me during the darkest chapter of my life, as I found myself lost and dismantled following the senseless murder of my incredible partner, Julia MacIsaac, on March 14th 2024...her beautiful life stolen by an individual whom we trusted and welcomed into our worlds with open arms. Julia was a BNO fan, and often encouraged me to start performing our songs again. This chapter is dedicated to honouring her life and memory. On behalf of the band, THANK YOU to all who are still here to sing along and join us on this adventure. We could not do this without you.
Jesus, that’s rough. Going to definitely make sure to go out buy some merch or something next time they tour.
During the live show, Connor said they will be touring this fall again. Headliner playing Train Wreck front to back.
I was sick when they played here with armored for sleep and was so bummed, hope they come back for Trainwreck. Would be really cool if some of the original members could come back for that tour, I know it’s unlikely though

Saw them live like I said and thought the new guys did a great job. Background vocals and music were all spot on. I get wanting to compare to this a Chiodos type situation but this definitely is the opposite of that.
I can promise you that we feel the same way. Those are some mighty large shoes to fill, but at the end of the day, we all just want to make sure our friend is okay. And if trying to fill those shoes to play some of the greatest music I’ve ever heard even halfway helps that healing process, we’re all in.
our situation is absolutely different from theirs, but the outcome is going to be something really beautiful. We’ve got new music on the way and such huge plans for the future
