As a credit nerd, it's fun to see Sam Hollander, who co-wrote their first two albums, back on a couple songs here.
The Outside, New Love, Miracle, and Story Of a Lifetime are all so good... can't wait til this vinyl arrives 5ish months from now
I really wish I liked this more so far. Singles are ok, New Love and Miracle are by far the best part of the album, and I couldn’t get into the second half whatsoever
Are you kidding me!!! This is incredible. So much nostalgia. I remember buying the debut on CD when I was 11. Can’t believe they ripped this hard 17 years later.
Very pleasantly surprised at this album, as the singles took a long time to warm up to me, but this is great. Only tracks I'm not feeling are New Love and Hourglass, they just felt a bit generic. Definitely my favorite since the debut, by a large margin.

Aw man this is awesome. I was so bummed to be missing the philly show because I'm out of town. Can't wait to see the new songs
Genuinely curious how these songs translate live. That said The Night Game were fantastic live so I have 0 doubts
I have given this a full listen and am seriously impressed. I absolutely love Physical straight away, and New Love too. After the initial listen, I think that The Outside is the only song that sounds like it could fit in to an older BLG record, but curious to know if anyone else thinks otherwise
Yeah I don't really see this as a BLG release, it's The Night Game through and through, with interludes and everything. The Outside is the closest we get to BLG territory, and that's just because of the palm muted verses and a little more pop-punk like chorus.
I can tell you that as someone who doesn't enjoy The Night Game that there's enough BLG energy here, that sort of carefree powerpop, to make me like it. But The Outside is definitely the closest thing to the debut.
The Outside feels more like the evolution of something from Love Drunk than anything on the debut. I think overall I can hear why its a Boys Like Girls album though although it's clearly got a lot of that Night Game sound as that's how his song writing has evolved.
I can not get enough of this album. It still keeps getting better and better with every listen. It really comes to life on my studio monitors at the home office. Story of a lifetime is definitely more BLG than I initially realized.
Their show on Friday was super awesome. It was packed. 5 bands on one bill in 2023 is absolutely wild though.
