TNG is a clearly good band that just doesn't do it for me, and sadly this song is the same. After the (really good) song I heard live at WWWYF I had high hopes for this, but it's a lot further from their debut's sound then the live track made me expect. Hoping I find some stuff that clicks with me on the full album though and glad people are happy with this. I just wish it was more BLG than TNG.
Yeah I like this, but was hoping for more like the new song from WWWY, which was much closer to the first two albums. Hopefully the album isn’t far off, but I feel like if it was anytime soon they would’ve given a date with this single.
Fives Minutes to Midnight is probably my favorite BLG song. Just incredibly catchy. When the full band comes in around 1:45 on Hero/Heroine... Going to give Love Drunk another shot
"Road Trippin" has always been my favorite, and I didn't realize until recently it was a Martin Johnson co-write.
I have a whole bunch of Martin Johnson songs on my marathon playlist for next week. Dude just writes some of the most propulsive pop songs ever. A bunch of "how were these not hits?" too. I'll never understand how "Glory Days" didn't turn Betty Who into a superstar.
Really enjoying the joy and unadulterated cheese of this track. It sounds like 00s Jonas Brothers to me. Great vibes and not the sort of melodies you still hear much of these days.
