Pretty much how where I’m at but if I’m putting nostalgia behind then The Night Game would be number one.
This is basically where I am. Night Game S/T has some AWESOME songs that he totally fumbled the production on. That puts it slightly below Foxwoods for me, which is just one of the coolest sounding records I've heard in a while.
Both? I’ve never had a big issue with the production, personally, but I do think there’s a pretty big gap on that record between the songs I think are all-timers and the ones that I think are just ok.
I think both Night Game records have that gap. Love both albums, but each has 3-4 songs I could live without. Maybe I should combine both into a sort of super album.
The biggest offender for me is "American Nights," which was SO good live that the recorded version just sounds super neutered.
One of my favorite live performances of all time. when Kirin throws the guitar and catches it in time to finish out bad girls I lose it every time.
They have been so, so good live. Martin sounds great and the bands chemistry is palpable. Lots of energy and amazing sound.
