I never got into them but my buddy loves them so I listened to this album today and The Great Escape was the only one I liked. I'll probably pass

I remember tai playing the same venues a year ago and some of the shows looked pretty empty. I actually like tai though lol I used to see blg singer at shows all the time and he was a real pos, karma I guess.

 

TAI never had a bunch of radio hits though, more of a niche cult following

Just curious, why do you say that? I've had quite a few interactions with Martin over the years and he was always a really genuinely nice guy. One of the only musicians (and this was at their peak) to approach me and tell me he liked my writing and that he appreciated me doing what I did. That's always stuck with me.

 

I dont want to make accusations and maybe it had to do with my younger perception but he just came off a certain way. I also understand people are all human beings and have their moments, this was also during them coming off their peak so I could understand being a bit smug.

Hopefully he dropped the shitty "I'm not continuing to play 'Thunder' unless you all clap what I consider to be loud enough" gimmicks that he pulled when I saw them 5 or so years ago. I imagine that was just an immaturity thing, but still; really soured these guys for me.
