Yea Phoebe is starting to have a bit of a history now with ignoring uncomfortable things sadly. I don't think it's like, beyond correcting or anything but it's still unfortunate for now.

In other news for Julien and Lucy at least, they played Not Strong Enough and Satanist as their SNL songs. Honestly kind of surprised Satanist was the second choice but I'm very happy it was, just wish you could hear Lucy a bit more. Otherwise Satanist REALLY popped off.

 

quick lil reminder that you have no idea what other people in the thread have experienced in their lives, so it comes off a bit ironic that your little "haha gotcha men!!" post is actually potentially doing what you're criticizing us for.

 

Fine you’re absolutely right.

Though I do think it’s also “ironic” that no one has anything to say about the court case I’ve posted about, where Phoebe was embarrassed and shamed and sued into oblivion for publicly calling out someone’s abuse.

 

Just went back and the thread was silent for a whole two days when I posted about SNL, which I did live right after it happened. What a weird thing to hold on to.

 

I’ll play along because I’m going through this right now. There are some logistical things that I’m in the process of unraveling but he’ll be completely removed from my life once all that is done. And I’ve gone VERY low contact for the time being. This person has been a big part of both mine and my partner’s lives for a long time. He was family. Now he’s just another monster.

It’s been more emotionally taxing than I ever could’ve imagined. But ultimately, this person is a predator. We brought this man around families of ours with children. There was no “what do we do” conversation. It’s over. I won’t go into details, but what he’s done is on a similar level of severity to Marshall. He’s not the person we thought he was. And it’s on us to grieve that while still doing the right thing and protecting our loved ones.

 

It's not surprising that Phoebe would keep Marshall around.

Something I noticed when she was starting to get popular during the Alps period was her propensity to surround herself with people ranging from bizarre to pieces of absolute garbage. She has made music with the likes of Noah Gunderson, a superspreader of STD's, and supposedly cozied up to Kim Fowley when she was starting out as a solo artist. Attending a Met Gala themed after Karl fucking Lagerfeld was certainly a choice given the guy's reputation and Phoebe's own history of championing sexual assault survivors (and being one herself).

Additionally, a few years ago there were a few Reddit comments by different users stating that she, along with Haley Dahl (the woman from Sloppy Jane) were racist maniacs in high school, with Haley supposedly being of the "predatory" variety. This gets even worse considering that Boygenius just had Sloppy Jane open for them in Los Angeles. Normally I wouldn't believe some randoms on Reddit, but these were multiple accounts years apart recounting similar stories. There was a good post on metalriot.com about it but the link and the site are no longer operational.

Throw in the relationships with Matty Healy (who claims to be trolling but I don't entirely buy it) and it becomes impossible to deny that something is off with her. There is not a snowball's chance in hell that Lucy and Julien are unaware of this. Given where they have positioned themselves on the social spectrum, I find it hard to believe they are ok with all of it. Of course, there is the possibility that all three are complete hacks, which wouldn't surprise me unfortunately.

This is going to blow up in Phoebe's face sooner or later. I weep!
