Was kind of hoping anything on this EP would be more interesting than the songs I didn't like on the record so that I could make a custom tracklist, but these songs came and went without leaving much of an impression. I liked Julien's lyrics on the last song and the outro, and that was all that stuck out.

Also, yeah, really hypocritical for this fan base to just snuff the Marshall Vore stuff before there was a conversation. Definitely coloring my view of this EP a bit.

 

I couldn't imagine just giving a random person my dog to hold, I would be terrified they would do something to my dog, you never know peoples intentions...but apparently she gave someone Maxine to hold during the show the other day?

 

Well that’s weird

 

I like all 4 of these songs a lot. I definitely like "Black Hole" & "Afraid of Heights" more than a few of the songs on the album. Surprisingly for me, the song I am most lukewarm on right now is "Powers", and I usually love all of Julien's songs most right off the bat.

 

Phoebe sucks because of not responding to the horrible shit her drummer did but can we not make her letting someone hold her dog some giant issue?

 

i was gonna say lol people hold dogs, especially tiny ones, all the time

 

The fan was in the front row, with no where to go, and Phoebe sitting mere feet from her. Phoebe also gave her a strict warning before handing Maxine off. This really isn’t a big deal.

Also, I have a pug. One of their favorite things is being held. My dog snorts up a storm when he gets to be held by others. It’s a pug thing.

 

This is dumb especially in light of legitimate accusations against a close collaborator of the band…under literally any other circumstance this would just be a cute story, cmon now

I respectfully disagree on both counts

 

I've cooled pretty hard on this. $20, Not Strong Enough, and Anti-Curse are still in my regular rotation but I don't have too much desire to come back to this as whole.

 

I thought this album would end up in my top 5 when it was announced just based on how much I loved the EP and some of the pre release songs showed great promise but yeah it’s just okay. Other records have come out since that I come back to way more and I enjoy more.

 

i actually kinda agree, this has some of the best songs of the year but probably could have just been another EP

I don't think I've cooled on the album at all. I still listen to it a lot. The songs that I thought were kinda weak when it first came out I still think are pretty weak, which was surprising to me coming from these three, but there are some absolutely incredible songs on it.

I am honestly kinda surprised by the response to this EP, because I liked it a lot right off the bat, loved 50% of it, and I was someone that was really hoping they rocked out kinda hard on most if not all of it.
