Secretly Group isn't incapable of handling an artist that could otherwise be on a major like Bon Iver but I could see it being an AFI/Nitro scenario where the label told her it would actually be in her best interests to move on.

In a lot of ways I see Secretly like Polyvinyl - somehow able to consistently punch up with artists that could be on a major.

 

Hopefully we get an announcement tomorrow. Also I know Phoebe is the most popular but hopefully that doesn’t cause some people to like only support because of Phoebe, I know there are people who know who Phoebe is but not who JB and Lucy are.

 

I was only familiar with Julien when their EP came out. Crazy how things have changed. I’d say I enjoy Phoebe more now. Haven’t quite gotten into Lucy’s solo stuff, but Night Shift is perfection. They all make magic together though

 

I will say on the contrary it will be awesome if the Phoebe fans who check this out then become Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus fans. When I originally heard the EP, I was unfamiliar with Lucy Dacus and have since become a very big fan!

Not sure about new Phoebe, she might be doing a distribution deal if she’s serious about her imprint.
