I really liked this review of the album, or rather review of how people are reacting to the album (and people's reactions to other people's reactions of the album) OUR BAND COULD BE YOUR WIFE #1: Girl Idiot, or What We Talk About When We Talk About Boygenius, or Welcome To The Fiasca
That's true, it was kinda my fault ;D though I'm sure then around the premiere I wasn't thinking of TLC specifically, I just had bigger expectations, and the comparison came later
This is on track to debut at #1 in the UK. In the US, it'll probably be in the top 5 with 60k equivalents. That's really insane, especially considering Fall Out Boy's newest album debuted with 59k.
I was just saying this to my friend as well…they do the alt rock so well…there’s def room for the slower stuff but I feel like they drag on this album a lot of the times rather than benefit it
Hadn’t listened to anything from this prior to release and after a few days with the album, Not Strong Enough is probably my favorite song of 2023 so far
I am loving this album so much. Gotten a few playthroughs. Lucy is the MVP of this one for me. Such great storytelling from her this time around.
kinda cool that the LP has a few subtle differences — a small transition between without you and $20 that's not on my streaming version and a locked groove for the last song that makes the last word repeat endlessly until you move the needle.
I think this flows nicely. Maybe just one more fast song would've been nice too but I'm happy with the slow jams
This sounds so good on vinyl, makes me appreciate the album so much more. The orange swirl from Target looks great too.
Is the Spotify piece related to their push to this new TikTok-style UI as well as their continued eroding of payouts to lesser known artists?
Damn finally listened to this and it’s v good. Aaaand tickets are sold out for my date. Which I honestly didn’t expect for some reason. Maybe I’m dumb, but I didn’t think they would sell out a 5000+ outdoor venue this quickly? Good for them.
