Any vinyl I’ve ever purchased from target sounds terrible, just fyi. Lots of pops, and some even sound like the tracks have been sped up.

I would assume that all 4 of these variants are being pressed with the same plates at the same plant so if there are pops it's either 1. all the pressings will have that pop or 2. the specific variant is prone to those pops

 

Should’ve checked this thread before I ordered the blue and silver, that orange is nice.

I've had records that sound sped up (not from Target) and always assumed it was in my head. Take This To Your Grave sounds pitched up.

 

Yea target isn’t pressing vinyl. They’re no different than VMP in this regard. They’re a distributor.

 

There are going to be so so many variants, if you don’t like one yet just wait and pay attention.

I like the Lucy song best! Wild how she’s become the most consistently resonant songwriter for me when I came to her last and still haven’t heard her debut.

It’s funny how each song is absolutely each woman’s formula.

Julien - driving, cars, self loathing, heavy guitars

phoebe - weird dreams, talking about various cities, romantic love, f bomb

Lucy - singing a song talking to another subject as she describes thing this other subject does, in order to get her feelings across about the subject

super excited for the rest! I’m curious about a potential tour, I know last time they just opened solo. Would love that again.

I do worry Phoebe has grown pretty huge to where any boygenius show will just feel like a phoebe show. And those crowds were….rough to say the least.

yeah Lucy is my favorite of the 3 as Home Video is my favorite recent release from the 3

 

I like Punisher more, but Home Video is the only one of the three most recent releases that I can go to at any time. And "Please Stay" is as gutting as any song in their collective discography.
