This show was so incredibly good, four straight sets of the best songwriters on the planet singing their hearts out. The supergroup set is the best part... there is no earthly explanation for why they’re so tight as a band on show #3, but it was stunning. “Me and My Dog” goes OFF live, even the three of them looked surprised by the audience reaction.
I honestly feel bad for anyone not paying attention to this group right now, that’s how special it is
I work like two blocks from the venue tonight. Just grabbed a coffee in my office building and went out for a walk for lunch, and saw Julien walking down the street right outside my building. I walked up to her and said I was a fan and that I wrote my master's thesis on Sprained Ankle, and she was super nice about it, especially considering I was visibly nervous. Probably seemed like I had just been a dude weirdly following her, which sucks, but seriously the coolest coincidence of my life.
First time I ever listened to Phoebe was when she was live on tour with Julien so it was pretty special to see them together again.
