My feelings. I was a bit annoyed that you couldn’t hear them and then Phoebe at the end blew me away and I was like “I’ll let the sound person off this one time”, ha!
Just watched the performance and my husband said it sounded “awful.” ... Soooo if anyone knows of any decent gay bachelors in the Boston area lmk because I’ll be divorced by the end of the week.
Oh my god the show tonight was amazing! Seriously I love Julien and Phoebe but I would be absolutely fine with them ditching their solo careers to pursue BoyGenius full time. That final set was probably one of my most memorable live music experiences. Also I waited until the end of the show to to hit the merch table and they were all sold out of the boygenius tee : (
Also forgot to mention Julien's new rendition of Sour Breath is amazing. Gives me high hopes that she's gonna be experimenting with her sound more on the next record.
This EP just sounds so rich and fulfilling. Every note, pitch, inflection, word sung - it all feels intentionally placed and carefully thought about, but it also always feels organic, as if they are sitting in the room playing right next to you. It's the sound of musicians who are beginning to fully realize their potential.
