Vinyl still officially releases 11/9. Except it's already shipped and I'll have mine tomorrow

 

Im holding off until my vinyl arrives. Cant wait to spin this and then to see them in Detroit in a couple weeks!!!!!

Also Salt In the Wound night as well be Yours & Mine ft Julien and I’m totally okay with it.

 

You’re probably right. Phoebe definitely the “folkiest” of the 3 and Ketchum fits the bill.

 

Also Id bet good money that the title is Bon Iver influenced

 

It's also where Ernest Hemingway committed suicide and Phoebe seems kind of morbid haha

Lucy is my favourite on here which is weird as she's my least favourite as a solo artist

 

This is so so so good. My vinyl arrived today. Nice surprise.

 

This is easily one of my favorites this year and "Ketchum, ID" had me in TEARS. Their three voices together is just...magical.

I don’t love love this yet but there are some great songs. Salt In The Wound and Bite The Hand are my favorites.

So because of that figured I’d finally give Lucy Dacus a listen this morning and I’m am blown away by Historian. HOLY SHIT. It’s good. Like how have I been sleeping on it???

I’ve long felt like I would enjoy JB’s music way more if she had a band/more fleshed out instrumentation, and this EP kinda confirms that a bit for me.

 

Truly whack that neither Phoebe nor Lucy chose a song from Turn Out the Lights.

 

Julien is always so incredibly well-spoken

 

Huge Julien fan, Phoebe’s record never really clicked for me (gasp, I know — going to have to revisit again) and haven’t listened to Lucy’s stuff yet (going to fix that shortly because...), wow — this is absolutely stunning.

 

Yeah it’s one of the best albums of the year. She kills it live too.

 

re: the idea of a full band Julien Baker album.

I feel really conflicted abt this (even though its all hypothetical). On the one hand, Stay Down is incredible and its great hearing her over more dynamic music. But I would also be devastated to lose the sound she has now.
