I watched about a dozen episodes the other day and it brought a HUGE wave of nostalgia that I wasn't expecting. It's been like 20 years since I've seen it and it was like woah!
It holds up so well. I can’t wait until my niche and nephew are old enough for me to show it to them. It’s in my top ten of all time in any genre for sure. Also I did meet Will Friedle super quickly at a con once and he seemed nice. A friend of mine who works cons got to hang with Ben Savage and also had good things to say. I hope that’s true for the rest of them.
Last night I decided to start watching season 6 when they begin college and I forgot but in the dorms they have coed bathrooms... like was this a real thing at colleges?
Also, I recently learned Maitland Ward (Rachel) is now performing in porn and Showtime has been airing the 2020 AVN awards and she won Best Supporting Actress.
My mom bought me Cory's celery poster for Christmas!!! It is seriously one of my favorite presents I've ever gotten. I hung it up in my kitchen above my sink and now whenever I walk in my kitchen I see it and smile. I love that episode so much. Rest of my family was VERY confused why I was so happy about getting it though lol
Haha, great gift idea! I’m going to put that on my wish list for next year. “There’s nothing about me that separates me from anybody else...”
My friends went to UD and the newer freshmen dorms there were “suites” where two dorms of same sex people would share a bathroom between the 4 people, but they were in the older dorms which where co-Ed floors and had a communal bathroom/showers for everyone on the floor. So it was indeed coed.
I’ve read somewhere that Trina McGee (Angela) received some racist comments behind the scenes. Though it was mentioned that Will Friedle apologized, he would call Trina aunt jemima. I recall reading her saying that Rider Strong was the only one that didn’t partake in those kinds of comments.
so i noticed that GMW was trending on twitter last night and today and i just went down a bit of a rabbit hole and found this one tweet with a clip that i either never saw or didn’t remember. honestly bummer me out with how tone deaf it was
I’d have to see how the rest of the episode played out. I think that’s kind of somewhat realistic to how young teens might react, not knowing enough about it or how it’s okay to have autism and etc. But if they didn’t go the right direction with it...yikes
So apparently this show just tried to recapture all the good teaching moments of Boy Meets World but fail horribly. Just look at how they handle God and Communism!
Just bumping this thread because I got the chance to go to the Pod Meets World “The Kids Wanna Jump” tour last night here in Michigan, which was such a wonderful experience. Danielle, Rider, and Will are a special group of people and the podcast is such a great companion piece to the original series now as it’s only enriched the show for me.
