Strange behavior in Loma taking those first few rounds easy; maybe he underestimated how good Lopez really was
Really impressed with Teofimo. Seemed like Loma wanted to take the first 2-3 rounds to figure him out, but ended up giving the first 5-6 instead because Lopez’s speed and poise was not what he expected. Thought Loma took most of the rounds in the back half and it turned into a good scrap when he finally decided to go for broke. Score cards were awful, but the right guy won. Happy for Teofimo, his family situation has seemed pretty sad at certain times but he really backed up everything he’s been saying for the past two years.
Loma and his corner really seemed to lack awareness in that first half of the fight. They were getting washed and no adjustments were made. ESPN broadcast really left a lot to be desired. That pace was just dreadful. I like Tim and Dre though, you could sense how unimpressed they were with Loma's strategy.
Holy shit was that just an abysmal decision. Even moreso because it came after they used instant replay. This sport is honestly utter horse shit like 40% of the time.
Can’t express how bad Tyson and Jones looked at the weigh in. Can’t believe I’m actually going to watch this. All those pre-fight videos had Tyson looking shredded and cut up. Looked pretty soft (which he should for his age regardless) on the scale.
Nate had absolutely zero technique. Having a fighting style of "lead with your head" is not the wisest
