best comedy of the year, i had a hell of a time watching this with the crowd i had. it gets more absurd than you might’ve expected. rachel is awesome, ayo szn is still very much on, and marshawn lynch is gonna be scene stealer for a lot of people. i’m not quite the main audience for this, so i imagine what it’ll be like for them. might also have at least two of the best needle drops this year

Movie is great but the rehab of Marhsawn Lynch’s image is really gross. Dude ran a woman over with his car and just took off while he played in Buffalo, gun charges, DUI and assault while in Seattle, he was also found drunk passed out behind his wheel like a couple years ago in Vegas.

It's hilarious and chaotic. More in the spirit of Not Another Teen Movie rather than Superbad

Holy crap this movie is hilarious! The background jokes added so many layers that I definitely need to see it again. I'm so stoked we got it at my job so I was able to catch it after my shift today.

Idk how it was possible for me to fall even more in love with Rachel Sennot but here I am. If you have the chance to see it, definitely do!

 

Saw it tonight and loved it, instant classic teen comedy. One of the funniest movies I’ve seen in years. Perfectly absurd and really leans into the tropes without worrying about making sense.

 

And it has bloopers at the end! Like every comedy should!

 

This ruled, immediately want to see it again. Like if they ran it back while I was still sitting in my seat I’d have stayed lol. Probably will try to go again next week. Really helps that the crowd at my theater was so hyped on it too

The final showdown was exactly as brutal as I hoped it’d be. Multiple “jesus fucking christs” out loud when homie got himself impaled. Also howling at Jeff’s jersey just saying “Jeff”

I really wasn’t sure where this was gonna land tonally, or really even what type of humor they’d be going for. Once Josie bumps Jeff with the car it became pretty clear, but PJ’s little throwaway line the next day after that profanity laden in-class announcement where she says something like “That’s it? That’s the whole class?” really sealed it. Not Another Teen Movie is a great comparison, even shades of Hot Rod. This also tackles the performative feminism aspect like 1000x better than Bodies Bodies Bodies did, which I’m only comparing since Sennott is in both

This may be the first comedy I’ve seen in my adult life that I can see being heralded as a classic for a younger generation in the way mine looks back on Superbad or Anchorman. Love that for them

 

The couple of songs in the soundtrack that have Charli’s sparse vocals makes me wish we had a Charli rock album.
