Beverly is close to 128 so nice.... Stoneham is close to 93 or 95 so thats nice as well. Whereabouts in Stoneham? CLose to where?
Got a buddy who just moved to Stoneham. He seems to like it. Other than the zoo? I feel like I don’t have a lot of knowledge of Stonehem Andover is super expensive now. Everything in this area is, but feel like Andover is the top of the price range
Looks like I’m officially moving to Stoneham. Not super excited about the neighborhood although living a few minutes from the Fells should be sick. I’m very excited about the apartment though.
One of my best friends lived in Stoneham until recently, and despite me living in Boston proper there were parts of the city we could meet that if we both drove (or if I t'd and he drove) he'd beat me there by 10 minutes. There's not a ton going on in Stoneham itself, but it's got a nice little section of restaurants and you really are close to anything you want to do in Boston. Def don't think you'll regret it.
Awesome, and who knows, maybe it’ll get more interesting over the years assuming I stick around. I signed the lease today.
Miss Boston a lot. Got to go to Ye Olde Oyster House over Christmas before a Celtics game. What I really miss is GOOD clam chowder.
I’ve been seeing Faces mentioned a lot while looking for cool places near Stoneham. I’m sure I’ll be out in Malden quite a bit.
Im in Metrowest area and it felt like a book fell off a shelf. I was on a conference call, and didnt think much of it Coworker in Fenway area felt something too., NBD though.
Anyone have any recommendations for areas to stay in near Boston? Going for a wedding in late July. Wedding is in Quincy and have a friend in Cambridge who we want to visit. Ideally would like to stay in a fun part of town (walkable, restaurants, coffee, breweries).
Are you wanting to stay in Boston proper or closer to either Quincy or Cambridge? Those two places are on opposite sides of the city and not easy to get between them without a car. As far as in the city the places with the most options are probably Theater District, Back Bay or Seaport areas. All have plenty of options for restaurants, Seaport has the worst access to the T (subway), but Boston is a relatively good walkable city when the weather is nice. Public transport is hit or miss depending on where you are and want to go, but Ubers are a plenty.
Thanks for the tips. I think we’d like to be in Boston city proper. We’ll only be there for a short weekend as we’re leaving our baby with grandparents. Our friends in Cambridge would be able to come to us and we can Uber to/from the wedding hopefully. Appreciate the neighborhood recs.
Me personally, if I had to choose an area of the city it’d be near the North End. Lots of transportation to other places and a crap ton of awesome restaurants.
Definitely. This guy knows. If I was staying in/around the north end, I would be eating pizza everyday
I don't believe so? The majority of the times I've gone have been at 3am after a party on Sheafe st haha
So…living in Stoneham has not been half bad so far. I’m within walking distance of The Emporio, which might truly be one of the best cafes I’ve been to in my 10+ years of living in this state. Like, I don’t know what this place is doing here but I hope it stays forever.
Yeah, I thought it’d be super boring and the town itself is definitely tiny but there’s more restaurants within walking distance than I expected which is honestly all I need in order to be happy. Went to an Indian restaurant my first weekend here and the food was kind of mediocre but everyone, including the people sitting next to me, were so nice that I’ll definitely go back on that alone, haha. Also found a very good Thai place! And only being 10 minutes away from The Baldwin in Woburn is going to be a problem.
